Default IP adresses best option?

Hi !

I have questions about different IP addresses for different accounts. I have my own ebay account that I use with my cox internet. I have a second stealth account (my mom gave me access to her account so I can sell from there) and I was using my neighbor’s wifi but he just moved so I am using starbucks wifi which sucks because I have to drive everyday to use it hahah. A good friend gave me a third account because he never uses it but I have no wifi for this either.

I’ve heard that with cox, swapping the router won’t change the ip address so I can´t use my house internet because I am already using it for my account.
In your experience what would be better to run my two stealth accounts (considering price and use): getting a dialup connection, a dongle or usb internet thing, an ipad with internet service, a Verizon MiFi??

If it's your moms accounts, then it's not a stealth account. Nor is your friends. You're asking for trouble going both those routes.

I don't know about cox cable. From what I've seen, changing out the router does change the IP address, unless you happen to have some different setup. When I first got my internet, they gave me this stupid modem router in one. Got a normal modem, and all worked great after that.

I use a bit of everything. I have Comcast as my main internet provider and use the local phone company for 2 DSL lines. I have Cricket broadband and T-Mobile broadband. I have used Virgin Mobile broadband in the past as well and AT&T.

I also use VPS's and VPN's, but I do not recommend this unless you REALLY know what you are doing. Not all of these services are created equal and using a bad one will just lose you the accounts.

I have used dialup in the past, but it is PAINFULLY slow! After a while, I couldn't stand it anymore.

DSL can be a bargain if it is offered in your area, and unlimited account with a speed of 3MBPS to 6MBPS can be had for $20 or so per month in many areas.

T-Mobile sells a broadband card at Walmart for $35, which gives you 5GB of transfer and will last as long as 60 days. If you are just using it for stealth, then it can EASILY last for the full 60 days, giving you a per month cost of $17.50, which is not bad.

Shop around, there are a ton of bargains out there, especially right now. The only thing I would not do is to sign up with any type of contract that locks you in for a period of time.

thanks jeff!
Yes i agree VPN and VPS is not an option, it is kinda scary haha more for experts!

At & t offers up to 6mbps of speed for $24.95 but idk if the ip is static or the ip can change and be used for these 2 accounts

I like the idea about the T-mobile broadband card!! I will look for more info about that, the ip changes everytime you log in with that??

Honestly, I have no idea. I use separate connections for each group of accounts (1 eBay, 1 Amazon and 1 PayPal). So I am not sure if the IP is static or not.

Few posts by mm78 about mifi - it works as a nice dynamic IP.

You don't need vps since you are in US - dongles, cellphone tethering...other options to consider
