Default question about ip adresses

i bought giffgaffs mobile internet and when i checked the ip adress on a site it said that the ip address has been used for spam, so does this mean that each sim card doesnt have a unique ip adress and if some one else with the same ip adress as the one i was given logs into their banned paypal i will also get banned?

So if I understand correctly, you put in the IP address in a website to check it but saw it was marked for spam and it came up red?

This has nothing to do w/ Paypal or eBay (there is no public database that would tell you that by the way...only their servers would).

When you lookup your public IP, some websites will also report on whether your IP was blacklisted by any of the 80 or so DNS anti-spam databases.

More than likely, the previous user of that IP was flagged for email spamming.

Now onto your IP issue
You should be aware that SIM cards do not have IP addresses. Try switching your WiFi off/on to see if you obtain a new IP. From what I read online, Giffgaff assigns dynamic IPs, so it should be relatively easy to just get a new IP.

i just went on a web site and it said that this ip adres has been reported as spam or something like that. Does this mean that each sim doesnt have a unique ip, so if someone else who at one time got the ip that i reicved logged into their banned paypal acccount and then a few months later i log into my paypal account it will be banned aswell? and is there a mobile intrnet porvider that gives you a unique ip?

Each sim does not have different ip's.

If you connect then disconnect the dongle connection you will probably get a new ip.

You will have a range of ip's.

I have used up all 4000 ip's where I live and am stuck so use your ip pool wisely.

Man, I sit here for hours and hours trying to get some repeat ip's so I can still use some of my old accounts that are active.

I think I will have to rent a small room somewhere out of my area, first checking if the ip's in that location are new for me.

Once I find somewhere, I will be more careful with my new pool of ip's. Its a shame for me as I cant work from my home anymore so its now like going to work !!!!

I am sure there is some way round it but I am still trying to work something out.
I am still testing if 4g with 4g dongle will give me new pool of ip's and lots of little things like that.
I tried to use different dongles and sims and laptops but I still get same pool of ip's.

I don't know to much about this ipv6 thing but I think when it comes out there will be a new big big pool of ip's, but I don't know too much about ipv6 stuff.

To be honest with you it has done my head in and I was actually depressed for a few weeks when I found out I used up all the ip's in my area.

Not to worry, where there is a will, there is a way (hopefully)

I have just been out 13 miles, well out of my major city I live in and still same ip's.

So, in theory, there are about 15,000 people odd within this 13 mile radius (probably much more), and if anyone one of these 15,000 odd people use mobile broadband to use ebay or paypal then they banned?!!!

I don't think it works like that maybe? I know for a fact there are many people in my city doing stealth via mobile broadband for long time and everything is ok.
More than likely we are all using the same ip pool which I have all got banned from and other people will get same ip's as me and my banned ones.

But it still works. I have my own theory about this but do not have the money to experiment at the moment.
