Facebook Stock in May

Facebook will go public in May and Offering Stock! Symbol FB.

I have never bought stock before, But this is one that i will be buying early!

Your Thoughts?

GrannyT 03-08-2012 02:19 PM

Don't waste your money - if you have an overpowering urge to lose money I will give you my bank account details.

The most over priced and over hyped flotation in years.

If you do go in get ready to bail out in the unlikely event of the price going up by 10c,

That would be my guess.

It will be massively overpriced to start. They are hinting the company is worth 100 billion. Thats just beyond absurd. That means every user is worth over $100 to them? Ya, ok...

It will blow up high fast, for sure. But will crash back down very fast as well

If it opens at $30, good luck getting it at $30. Be $40 or more by the time you get in.

Million dollar questions is how high it will spike and how fast to drop again. Hours? Days?

I would buy and sell within 24 hours or so. But naturally I am just guessing here. Hype will spike it thats for sure. But I have to think the financial world is a tiny bit smarter than to actually think it has anywhere near the value they are trying to set it at. Dont get fooled into thinking this is getting in on the ground floor. This is a cash grab. That ground floor was gone many years ago. IMO if you hang onto anything you buy for longer then a week it will not be profitable. But who knows. There could be enough people out there crazy enough to keep it high for months...

I have been known to indulge - I tend to buy if I'm intending to hold though

Same as everything else, facebook will have a shelf life. First it was Bebo and Faceparty etc, then myspace, then facebook.

a new fad will come along sooner or later, they always do - then the value will nosedive.

Just my 2p worth

Christopher 03-16-2012 05:39 PM

Wow they shouldve been done this...but it may go up...facebook gets tons of users but its spam central

Gamefreak 03-16-2012 05:55 PM

Its all about money chris.. The ppl who own millions of stock will sell and left the fools with the junk they knew from the get go was sh!t stock!

Reality speaking pod experts are saying each user is worth about $3. They can go higher but then they have to add ads to mobile and more ads to to site to bring in the kind of money their saying its worth. Facebook barely makes any money right now..

Im already sad for the suckers who gets stuck with these sh!t stock..

BiN4RY 03-16-2012 06:18 PM

Didn't Facebook mention that it's not 100% public as only certain groups of people can buy their stock, or am I remembering it wrong?

I find even that generous. But in the IPO they are trying to reflect the value at 100 billion. Thats absurd.

Way way too much value is placed on shotgun internet marketing. Not much is being sold off facebook. So its all just illusion. No value as far as I'm concerned. Opinion, naturally

Nothing is public now. But they are just going public with a small fraction. 5% I believe. Its a cash grab. Somebody smart HAS to realize two things:

The value of the company is not real [Saying Mark is worth x billion is dumb. Unless its in his bank and its not]
Sooner or later this will become more and more clear and said value will vanish

So, grab a few billion from investors while the getting is good. I suspect most stock holders after a week will be naive average folks thinking they are buying in ground floor. Real investors will buy and dump, real fast

There was a short time when netscape was "worth" 2 billion. Ya, ok

All my useless opinion and you would be safer using a fortune cookie for investment advise....

According to Facebook Stock: Should You Buy It? - AskMen

The actual stock offering would be weeks away, with shares probably starting to trade in May. If the company sells the expected 7-10% of the available stock and raises the expected money doing so, it will be the largest Internet IPO in history -- and value the entire company between $70 and $100 billion, making it one of the most valuable in the United States.

By way of comparison, the market cap for McDonald's is about $100 billion. Citigroup and Amazon are worth about $90 billion, and Bank of America about $75 billion. If the stock offering proceeds this way, founder Mark Zuckerberg's stake will probably give him a personal net worth north of $20 billion in time for his 28th birthday in May.

Page 2
Translation? The stock will pop on its first day of trading, but unless you're a heavyweight investor or know someone, it may be hard to get in on the IPO.

But judging by the media hysteria just the rumor of the offering is creating, I can make two firm predictions. One, the stock will be valued at more than it's worth. And, two, the average investor is unlikely to get a single share prior to its trading debut.

They are just dreaming. That puts each member on facebook worth over 100 bucks. Insanity

Agreed

I think all the talk of 70-100 billion is a deliberate ploy to get the average Joe to jump on this. No way a real smart analysis is going to buy its worth 100 billion. Biggest IPO? How about biggest scam...

Gamefreak 03-23-2012 05:34 PM

I dont see how it can come anywhere near 100B mark. FB so called main revenue ads are not making sh!t as it is. Ppl dont want more ads the minute that happens ppl will jump ship to whats next google plus?

fb will die as fast as it was made popular
