Chrome & Firefox ID's and using on multiple laptops?

With Google and Firefox (and Opera I think), you can log in to your own profile.

If you do this, then you get all history and passwords copied and be available.
BUT... do cookies get copied across as well?
And can you use on more than one laptop with no issues?

Thanks.

Doesn't this open up room for potential errors/mistakes?

If you need to sync cookies/browser, i'd put them in a dropbox folder and use portable browsers. That way whichever computer you open the portable browser from, the cookies will be in sync.

The method of logging in... it lacks "isolation", which creates opportunity for things to leak.

Test it out :) Should be really easy to do

If it does work then sure why not

Re: Chrome & Firefox ID's and using on multiple laptops?

portable browsers is ok.
problem is when u have 100 accounts.
do u have 100 separate dropbox folders each with 300MB of space needed for each instance of the portable browser?
(i don't have 100 accounts yet. LOL. but the point still stands)

in portable browsers, u can launch and specify a folder in which to store the users details. in the same way u can launch an ordinary browser in the same way.

i was hoping some clever person had already done and is using folders in the way i mentioned

Out of curiosity, why do you need to open your ebay account on multiple computers?

Personally I only ever login from 1 computer. But more importantly, I rarely login. Most of what I need to do can be done without logging in, because I have all the tools in place. Usually I'd login twice a week to respond to rare disputes and make withdrawal requests.

If you ever span out to 100 accounts, you need to think smart, find way to make accessing accounts more efficient, so much so, you dont need to actually access them... ;)

@play
one laptop is used currently.
i like to have everything in dropbox - so i can use elsewhere and am not tied down to one single laptop.

Dropbox has potential for confusion.

I was referring to something like inkfrog for managing listings for multiple accounts.

Then something like Zenstores for managing orders for multiple accounts.

Then you wont need to login to them as often. Just every now and then when you have to, i.e. make withdrawals.

See here > Guide / Tutorial on How to manage multiple stealth accounts efficiently

Having each account with its own windows login ID reduces a lot the risk of logging my mistake in the wrong account, thus leaking everything.
And believe me, if you all have under one account and running multiple instances of Firefox Portable, it's just a matter of time till you get a confusion somewhere.

My advice is to always strictly separate the entities.

I have seen some online tools (I dont remember the name unfortunately) that you can rent (around 100USD per month) and from one unique application launching and maintaining completely different profiles without any risk of leaking.

this one is not bad. I have tested the free version, but had many limitations. The paid version should be very good if it does what it said, but I assume yes.

WOW... that's a LOT per month.
I've developed a tool to help separate ID's and make sure IP address never get mixed.
I'm hoping to sell off this website.
Reminds me... I need to message aspkin about this.

I can't find the link but there is a thread here that shows having multiple browsers and how not to link the cookies between them. I'll see if I can find it but I've been doing it and haven't had any issues.
