Default Dial up vs Multiple DSL/CABLE Modems

Ok people are saying buy multiple modems, etc to give a new ip address for each account you have created. Buts whats the point? When you can simply create your accounts using DIAL UP, after registering a account simply disconnect the dial up modem and then reconnect (new ip) thus creating another account. Also during the registration process for each account make sure you make a Auctiva account and the token. After registering the amount of account you desire, simply list the items via Auctiva with your speedy broadband connection.

Some people on this forum seem to be saying that you need a different phone number for each account you register with via Dial Up?

It's said because with a different number you get a different IP range. It's not required, just a helpful hint if you keep getting the same IP address after reconnecting. Main thing is to note your IP addresses and not to mix them up and use the same one for multiple eBay accounts.

Yeah was a bit curious, is it possible to use dial up from the same location with different IP ranges?

Default Creating Accounts With Dial Up

Hey,

I woke this thread up for some peace of mind, So i need some input form the forum.

My question is,

Is it still safe to create multiple accounts with dial up?

I switched from optimum online and almost destroyed myself. My blackberry
with Virgin Mobile and it only gave me a pool of 10-15 ip's and after that I bought a Tmobile dongle(10-15 ips) to Buy and sell off of accounts I created with optimum online.

So once again someone please answer this question.

You should switch to verizon, I've logged in to ebay/paypal 100's of times with my blackberry and never linked any accounts plus you get a whole new ip range each time.

This is Exactly what I have been doing,

Now I Just got the New Verizon Thunderbolt so I can now Do it on the 4g Network,,,

but you see NOT Everyone has the Luxury of living in a Large Metropolitan area like NYC as I Do, and I am assuming you do, where Verizon (Or ANY other Carrier Here) Has MILLIONS of IP Addresses available at all times, making getting the Same IP Address almost impossible,,,

Some Less Populated Rural areas,, carriers may only have a VERY Short IP Range (15-20 IP Addresses) making the Possibility of getting the Same IP Address Likely, so you see Dial Up may still be the BEST option for MANY Members here
