Just set up a little media hub for those photos Sandy. Then connect it to the network so every computer can pull the photos from one place.

Thank you.

You know I am not techie at all but did buy an external hard drive with folders for each account and use usb to grab pictures.

Will look into your way to maybe make it easier and quicker.

And if anyone is wondering what Sandy's computer setup looks like...here it is.

Pretty darn close MM.

My daughter tells me my office room looks like the computer room at school.

Then ask, why do you need all those computers?

Answer--- you are the only 7th grader carrying and Samsung Galaxy III around, that is all you need to know, has a netbook, PS3, Nook, HP touchscreen widescreen computer, X Box, Kindle, Ipod touch, ipod nano, newest version of photoshop with a drawing tablet to draw all kinds of things that show up on the screen (:smash:) and 4 million pairs of shoes and 2 closets full of name brand clothing :d

End of story.

Some people like me dont have a computer room, but any room is ok to use as long as income and your comfortable working. I dont have more then 1 computer and I have many user profiles. As long as you dont have too many programs like over 100 which will disconfigure so many things probably. Just my 2cents.

Need to add.

And a nice little savings account she built herself by going to auctions, yard sales, thrift stores and buying the typical kids stuff lile DS Lites for 10.00 and sells on ebay for 100+, PS2/3 games, 30.00 Itunes unopened card at a yard sale for 5.00 ( of course her eyes went wide open ) a fossil mens watch for 10.00 etc.

If a 13 year old can do this then everyone else can.

Sandy, I know you have many, many accounts.
So, I know you're a pro at switching IP addresses.
That's the most time consuming process of my setup.

What method of IP switching do you use?
I can't imaging you're going into your router and changing your MAC.

I sure do.

Being a non techie person I am old school.

Works well for me.

I need to robot to flip routers for me as I am in and out of 100s of account most days.

Never been linked either!!!

Re: How many users per laptop?

Loads of user accounts really drives me loopy. Often I also websurfing on these accounts then bookmark something, then forget which user I bookmarked it on, or saved a file somewhere etc etc

You have to be super organised or it can drive you mad

I copy and paste the URL into notepad and then place it into public docs etc so I can access it from any user account as I need it.

My problems are when I have so many computers lined up and need something from one of them.

Have been using a thumb drive lately and that works well b/c of this.

Sounds perfect for DropBox, Sandy.
Imagine each of your accounts, connected to Dropbox. You drop a file into one Dropbox folder, on one machine, and you can then access that file from ANY of your other machine/user accounts.

I still can't see how you change your IP address by changing your MAC address on your router. That takes at least 4 minutes, on my router.

And, to do that 100 times? Yikes!!

yotano211 03-16-2013 05:05 PM

You don't need to change the MAC address with ebay
