Default One authorize.net account with multiple merchant accounts

I just spoke with a sales rep at auction checkout and she told me that you need a separate authorize.net account with each merchant account. I am planning on setting up auctioncheckout and merchantplus but I was originally planning to use only one authorize.net account.
Is she correct?

I would image so. I expect she knows what she's talking about, she's not a paypal representative after all

ok thanks for clearing that up chris.

now the question is what is the best way to buy an authorize.net account. Auctiva wants 150 and the merchant accounts charge monthly. Theres got to be a better way.

You can have a auction checkout with the Gold Plan or a Merchant Account with the auction checkout blue plan.

why do you need multiple merchant accounts? you can use 1 for all your ebay accounts.
