Newbie's questions

I just read the ebay stealth..So I have a question. What is the relationship between Authroize.net and Merchant Plus? I am confused, are both companies providing the same service that accepts online credit card? If yes, why do I have to sign up both? Unlike the other merchant account service Google checkout and CCNow, they just need to sign up once...Sorry for the silly question, I am just confused...:hail:

Merchant plus is a re-seller of authorize.net's service. Merchant plus gets paid by authorize.net every time they get a new customer/sale
