Paypal knows that i'm using vpn
 

I just got off the phone with PP customer service, i called them to ask about my limited account, i got limited and they asked for SSN and address and a bunch of other stuffs. My call got redirect to the account limitation department, then this lady told me that my account got limited because i was using a VPN?! :confused:

I'm using 24vc fresh plan.

I told her i'm on holiday in thailand and i'm using VPN for netflix, she told me she can't help me unless i'm back in the States....

Seems like they called your bluff...Did you call them using a USA number? probably what they saw.

We usually advice to check out here before calling in for a limitation.

Calling paypal reps can be pretty useless there not really allowed to tell you exactly the reason why you were limited, otherwise that would just help everyone know exactly what not to do next time for their future stealth accounts.

Seems your paypal accounts are pretty new so most likely they limited you because you were marked as high risk for either doing too many transactions too quickly or for doing suspicious transactions, ie the people you were sending or receiving money from.

Then when you called she told you it was because the vpn, but they would never limit you just for using a "vpn". Majority of large business uses some type of VPN for security. Your account must of been marked as high risk for them to do a manual review, and then when you called they just told you what would get you off the phone faster. Would recommend starting slower in the future and splitting transactions between multiple accounts, also be careful how you spend or receive money especially on new accounts.

I called them using a USA number on my Skype while on VPN, will that be a issue?

If they're are able to detect calls on VPN, how does one call them without being in the States?

There's a pretty big difference between just using a VPN, and using a VPN to hide your IP.

I honestly wouldn't' be surprised if some of the 24vc's IP ranges are known to Paypal by now, considering the volume of stealthers using it.

Its really not as simple as that

Most VPNs are abused and do not have dedicated IPs

Nearly all proxies are really abused. They are cheap for a reason

It's very important to start very slow, maybe sell 5-10 low risk items per month until you pass the 90day mark.

Anyone can look at an IP address and determine if it's a VPN or not.. it's quite easy.

It's only a problem if that IP has been abused before or not.

Though as 123 has mentioned, your account probably had other issues before the IP address was an issue.

I called Paypal USA limitations department and 1 representative told me over the phone that I am logged in from a VPN, so looks like they somehow can see that you are logged in or have been logging in from a VPN!

Dongle is a great option but if you are overseas, you will only get that country IP :( sadly

*UPDATE* I managed to get the SSN requirements removed from talking to one of the representative and paid $120 to get my other documents done creatively for my stealth. Paypal appeal denied and closed my account. Now i'm stuck with an account with $900 inside that will be avail in 180 days , but i don't have an US bank account to withdraw from... Any advice? Or anyone would like to buy off the account?

So you got the SSN requirement removed and paid to get documents done but PP still denied you? That sucks to hear but it is kind of expected from Paypal.

You have 180 days to get a US account for withdrawal - time for research...

Maybe you can find a bank in SG with a branch in US, open an account there and use it as a US bank account

Did you try it before? I can see that you're not from USA too. I'm thinking about Citi Bank, they've a branch here.

If you are using a U.S. PayPal you need a USA Bank.....no other option.

I'm asking him which bank exactly as i see that he's in Thailand, i've friends in Thailand that can help me set this up.

Was it a stealth account you tried this on? Because i read on bangkok bank page "Please note, the name of the new or existing Bangkok Bank account must be the same as the name registered with PayPal (if a mismatch occurs, funds will be returned to PayPal)"

I did it 3 times with stealth, but the last one failed, but not sure it was because of the mismatched name because I had many troubles with this bank account.
However, they will NEVER tell you to put a f.ake name on it ;)
The only thing I am 100% sure is that mismatched name work with bkk bk in thailand. Opening a merchand account with the company's name similar as your stealth name could be a solution ? I don't know

sure they can . they have advanced firewalls uses DPI to detect OpenVPN Protocols

not to mention 95% of VPN providers not using DNS from the same country as IP Location , also how many people turn off WebRTC ? From PP POV why anyone would turn Off WebRTC ? unless they are trying to hide something
