Paypal Holding My Account Hostage - No Solutions Given

Hello,

Today I am writing you about my paypal horrible experience.

After waiting 180 days to get my paypal funds eligible for withdraw (on a stealth account) to the bank account I had attached since I created my account I went ahead and process the withdraw on July 10th.

On July 11th the withdraw was reserved by paypal system so I called paypal on July 14th and they told me some changes were done to my account and it should work this time.

On July 15th again the same situation, my funds were reversed. I called paypal and they told me the same scenario, some changes were done and it should definitely work this time around.

On July 18th I tried for the third same, yet again the withdraw was reversed the next morning July 19th. I called paypal explaining my situation for the past week. They said that they would require ID and bank statement which I provided right away. So I called again the same day (July 19th) during the night and explained what had happened. The lady who I spoke to told me that it will work this time, and I should not have any issues. So I did try to withdraw for the fourth time on the 19th.

July 20th my withdraw was reversed. I called and demanded to speak to a manager. I spoke to a manager and he told me that he is not sure why this is happening that he tried all the tools at his dispose to get the withdraw to go by but his not sure and only suggested me to try with another computer from another location but is not guarantee and if it were not to work to call again.

I told him that it's hard for me to believe that a human who supposedly is a manager can't tell a system what to do. I wasted 1-2 hours on each phone call every morning and of course they would care less since they are getting paid to talk to me while they hold my money hostage and apparently have no control of what the system wants to do. I am tired of this situation and I am out of options as to what I can do. It seems like I will never get back my $5000 back at this point, any help by the community would be appreciated

I had a lot of experience dealing with paypal and had in the past been through the scenario of having to wait 180 days even for much larger amounts but never dealt with an issue of having to withdraw after waiting.

Have you tried withdrawing to a different bank?

They won't allow me to withdraw to different bank account, they told me I have to use the original one attached which that bank account is active and is the one I am trying to use to withdraw.

Your bank may be rejecting the deposit which is ehy it reverses. Have you contacted them?

If your bank see the "footprint" of a payment coming through you will know its them.

Or try withdraw much smaller amounts.

My bank is not rejecting them. The payment is reversed by paypal after 2-3 hours from doing a withdraw attempt. Paypal even told me paypal system is not allowing the withdraw as I stated in my original post.

I would suggest trying a different bank in any case despite what you are being told. If you are unable to add the bank within the PP site, then try and add it over the phone using their IVR instead.

Your only other option would be to add a new address and have a paper check sent there. Even if the check is in the stealth name, you can still deposit it (esp. though an ATM).

Of course it gets rejected if you try to withdraw big amount like 5000$ at once! You need to withdraw this in smaller amounts, then paypal internal security system won't cancel your withdrawals!
Smaller amounts like 200-300 $ at once. Maybe even 500 $ at once.

From a limited account - haven't needed to do this before.

Strange. I think you need to call paypal USA limitations phase 2 department!

Which would be? Is it a manager I already tried that.

Keep on trying until someone will help you. I had the same problem like you and kept on calling for many hours until I got my problem resolved. At least I didn't give up. Calling with Skype is free to Paypal USA.

You need to prevent this from happening next time by not letting your money sit in PP.

Trial and error, ask to speak to a supervisor. If i recall a supervisor and a manager are two different positions.

You can always request a check, if the VCC allows you to change the address

Re: Paypal Holding My Account Hostage - No Solutions Given

I managed to try again for $200 withdraw, and it actually did work.
So I am guessing I will have to keep withdrawing less then $200 until I empty out the account which could take several weeks.

Although I can confirm that if I try to call they will ask me for 2 more different types of ID to "allow" me to withdraw. Their full of BS.

Something weird happened after my last withdraw. After about 4-5 small withdraws of about 200-500$ range, during the last withdraw paypal automatically did another withdraw for the whole amount remaining. So now I have all my funds in my bank account!

Isn't that a good thing??

Maybe you miscounted the amount of withdrawal you did?

But regardless, everything is good to go right?

demitrick 08-14-2017 11:11 PM

Re: Paypal Holding My Account Hostage - No Solutions Given

Yes, but I did not miscounted the withdraw I did. I check my withdraw emails and they were the same. Someone from paypal did total remaining withdraw and never got any email or notification about it but I saw my bank for the full amount and I decided to check as to why and of course my paypal balance is now $0 but I did get the full amount.
