Re: Paypal is limiting everything!
Like I said in another thread, there is a Super Crackdown going on with PYPL, regardless of what anyone says. They definitely changed their security algorithm. It started in the middle of April when they limited accounts for trying to send money for a single item/transaction over $200 on new accounts.
Then it got to the point where you couldn't even add a vanilla visa or mastercard to the account (again, in April) or it'll get limited. THEN it got to the point where you couldn't even sell consumer electronics on a new account (phones, tablets, gaming consoles, etc). I tried selling an older Samsung Galaxy for under $50 and as soon as it sold, BAM automatic limitation asking for all types of docs and invoices. When they auto limit like that, you KNOW the account got redflagged because they ask for irrelevant things like "supplier information" and "invoices." Really? I sold an older USED phone with photos in the listing and you just automatically think that I have a supplier, receipts and invoices? That's how you know it's their automated security measures.
And now, things kicked into even HIGHER gear THIS month. Now they complain when you try to SEND money, even for a low amount.
So basically, you just have to change your account set up. Anything could be factoring in to limitations and payment roadblocks ("quick security check" and "we can't send your payment right now" messages).
It can be any of these factors: - Your IP (standard IP, VoIP, VPN, Proxy, Mobile Data; Avoid L2TP, PPTP VPNs and HTTP Proxies; Only OpenVPN and SSL/HTTPS Proxies)
- Cookies
- Card or Bank on file
- Card type (credit card, debit card, giftcard and brand/pool of giftcard)
- Security questions added (helps strengthen account a little more)
- Category of item recently sold
- Amount the item was sold at (lower or higher than usual market price; higher Than they really allow a new account to receive)
- Title of the item sold (yes, titles play a part too; selling too many items with "New" in the title on a new account is a redflag)
- Address (addresses must be real addresses)
- Browser (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Edge, IE, Opera, Mobile)
- Country of account
They all factor in with making and operating a PYPL account (especially on the first few items sold). I found out how to avoid limitations and send payments without security checks for now. Secret links also help out great.
