Default PayPal asking for Tax ID

Paypal is now requesting Tax ID info and I'm not sure what to do. I just had a sale then that email came right after it. Is this required after a certain amount of sales or something new?

The email said if I don't give the info then my account will be limited.

I'm not sure what to do now :(

I need some help please.

This is not new.

There are 20 million threads on this forum about this.

This is known as a tax limitation, and it's applied to your account as you approach 200 sales and/or $20,000 in a calendar year.

To avoid this limitation you give them a tax ID such as an EIN.

Or you stop selling on this account until next year.

Yes, I've just seen all of the inquiries regarding this issue. I just wish I knew about it before I leaped to purchase accounts.

Does the name on the EIN have to match my name on the PayPal account?

Thank you for responding.

No, it does not. What needs to match is the EIN + business name given to you by the IRS. Put that info in your Paypal when you grade and you'll be fine.

Ok, so I went to add the EIN and it's asking to upgrade for business account and my last 4 digits of SSN. How am I suppose to do this on a stealth account?

I put the EIN but, for some reason in my message center it's still asking for Tax ID. How long does it take for them to check and confirm?

This is a stealth account but I have an EIN but, the name is not the same on my stealth account as my business account. I hope I didn't muck up anything.
