The Death of Paypal, Rise of Crypto

I think Paypal will start losing customers or revenue from this TOS Update. This is the best time for Cryptocurrencies to take its place. Go go go Cryptos.

Re: The Death of Paypal, Rise of Crypto

Empirestate is always a huge fan of cryptos, and it's easy to understand why.

The only small problems with cryptos are adoption/acceptance and trust.

Paying in cryptocurrency does not give you the same protections you get with using cards or PayPal.

Most people are going to pay with whatever they are most comfortable using. More than 220 million people have a PayPal account, with millions more using VISA/MC. I just don't see cryptos having the footprint to match that anytime soon.

Also, the Federal Reserve (FED) in the USA won't like too many people using a platform they can't control.

Re: The Death of Paypal, Rise of Crypto

I suppose paypal could get into the crypto business and be he interediary for payments using that type of currency using the current tools they employ such as the 21 days hold, full identity ferification etc.
Wonder if thats the direction theyll trying going in.
And Empirestate doesnt know what hes a fan of. Have a look at the last few months of his posts. One day hes for cryptos the next hes forecasting their collapse. And the way he jumps between one crypto and another can make your head spin. Make up your mind Empirestate! lol

I kind of doubt PP would get into the crypto business with the volatility and somewhat-decentralization

Imagine if Paypal could strike a deal with Amazon. Maybe the divorce from Ebay is the gateway to a new partnership... Who knows!

If you for one nano second think Amazon will sign a contract with PayPal and give them a tiny cut of each transaction, you clearly don't know Amazon. They thrive off of every penny they make... they will never give that up.

But couldn't Paypal cut costs for Amazon sellers and make the platform more attracting? I think Paypal would make payments for Amazon buyers even smoother.

Seriously, we as sellers have our objections to Paypal, but from a buyer's point of view, Paypal is really good and convenient.

It literally CAN'T get any smoother to pay for something on Amazon right now.

I have a stored card on Amazon...I add my items to the cart...click pay and verify the order and I'm done. How much easier does it need to be?

No. Might be seeing $6.8k at which time youll be BUYING.
Or $6.4k at which point youre sooooooo BUYING!
But youre definitely looking for it to get to $3k which is when you DEFINITELY buy.
Or perhaps its $5k. And youll BUY BUY BUY!!!!
And those are just your predictions from the last 10 days - and only the ones Ive seen.
Anything else crypto-guru?
