Any other payment channels other than Paypal?
 

Paypal had been a real pain in the ass lately. Products that I had been selling for years on eBay but Paypal threatened to limit my account if I did not take the items down from eBay. I talked to an eBay customer officer about it and he was also confused why Paypal is interfering with the items being sold on eBay. Then out of the blue today, Paypal decided not to be my payment channel without giving any reason at all!

I heard that Ayden could be the alternative payment gateway for eBay but nothing had been announced yet. Does anyone know of any other way that we can bypass Paypal and still continue business on eBay?

USA Ebay authorized payment gateways : Paypal, Payflow, Authorize.net, Cybersource.

OP - Maybe start your own website? That way you can accept whatever payment method you want. Unfortunately eBay is very picky with payment methods. You could do local pickup and have buyer pay you then if you mainly sell locally?

True but over time he could eventually have as much success with a website. Especially if it's a popular niche. Will be a while but worth it in the long run. Could advertise on eBay, make a business card and include it in the package or send an email or something.

You have half of a point there. I've never like unbacked paper money. BUT, at least it's recognized as valid currency by the entire world.

Seriously. I've used crypto on clear-net websites twice now and both times were scams. Never received anything from the "seller". There's no way I would use crypto to make a large order of inventory.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. Was down with a virus.

Currently selling only on eBay UK. But I do intend to sell in USA and Australia if it's possible.

I agree, I'd love to have a thriving website, it just takes a TON of effort and knowledge how. eBay it's already there and the bull**** we have to deal with is actually easier IMHO.

Yup of course it's possible.

Just follow ebay stealth to create your accounts, then I do recommend IPburger VPN for USA. Not sure if they have Australia, but you can ask them.

Yes skrill does NOT work. I believe it used to. As for Ayden, it is very publicly announced with some detail. Just Google it. It will REPLACE paypal as ebays butt buddy, but not till like 2020. And the ebay CEO's says they chose them because they were willing to more seamlessly integrate with ebays site. AKA they can bully the company into doing whatever they want. I don't have the highest hopes for it....

I have a suspended PayPal account. Is there any chance I can use Payflow even though is owned by PayPal?

Probably not. Just go with Auth.net.

You can try using merchant accounts to receive payments, but i read from previous people there sales reduced doing this as buyers are put off buying not being able to use Paypal.

Shopify allows you to create a website on their platform and process payments themselves so you would not need Paypal. You would of course need to advertise your website to get sales. You could possibly do this with face-book adverts/pages.

So speaking of making our own website, what would be the steps to actually drive visitors into it and get a certain % of them actually purchasing something?
