hey guys! i was really excited to find this forum and see that people have been having a lot of the same frustrations that i've been having.

anyway, i am vacationing in china right now. about a week ago my account was limited (my account is 100% legit; real name, ssn, birthday, everything), which has never happened before. so i went through the arduous process of calling paypal (at GREAT expense) from here and having them lift the limit.

ok, or so i thought. i have tried to pay for three ebay items since then and every single time, paypal has reversed the transaction and i've had to pay by e-check (which thankfully still seems to work), and my account has been limited again. the last time i called they said it was simply because i was logging into an american account from china and the system automatically limits my account. i am annoyed to say the least, since i have called these people four times now and have yet to hear anything helpful from anyone.

here's my real question: i am leaving for south korea this week and have some important transactions that i need to do during that time. will paypal limit those as well? i'm not sure because south korea seems much more "low risk" than china.

in any case this has been an extremely frustrating experience. thanks a lot for your help!

paypal do not like transactions when they get done on a different IP. They take action that actually protects. you. Keep on trying to contact them to advise what you are doing. Why did you not close your business B4 you went O/S?

Yes, EB & PP did the same thing to other people as well. Logging in from a different country surely will trigger the highest risk red flag. Different state will also trigger a low/med level flag. will trigger the verification.

Next time, either turn on your vacation mode in eb account, OR leave your computer up running at home, remote in and do ur business, then eb & pp won't notice any change.
