I too use Chase. The ONE THING that you should never ever ever do is check your balances on line. Chase provides IP numbers (under the patriot act misuse rules) to people like paypal and ebay. If they see the same IP checking the balances etc they link you. I KNOW...had it happen. Capitol One as well. If the same IP is checking various accounts they will all be linked and it's a matter of time until ebay and paypal find out.

^^i dont get what you mean, i check my balances several times a day and have had no problems.

I regularly check my balances online, maybe this is why i cannot transfer,i now have the 180days, my fear is will i will be able to get my money out since the account names are different? any ideas here??? does this also apply to BOFA? I wonder if anyone else is having issues with Chase or is it because of scenario referred to by onceuponatime????.... So i guess we should stop checking balances online not to get screwed...

They want you to go online and check balances instead of going into the bank... saves money for them. Logging into your bank account is not suspicious behavior.

Just a very random question..because this is all very good advice..but what if eBay and Paypal reps. spy on this website? Is there a way to make such valuable info. more private? I feel like we are making their job so much easier if all they have to do is ⊗⊗⊗⊗ being a member for this website to see the "secrets" we "normal" folk have all figured out about their stupid systems. Totally random..I find this info. helpful, but I have this odd feeling that eBay and Paypal read up on this and "us" and then find ways to enhance their security based on what they read on here.

alot of the stuff we do on here isnt technically illegal so not much paypal can do. also while paypal is quite annoying they do have to work with other companies and such so they can only do so much. Sure they can say no visa gift cards but are they reall going to get mad at visa and say we wont use your cards anymore. they would go out of business so fast. Or requiring everyone to sign up to have to give out all this info. People would steer clear of using the site. Theres really only so much they can do to "stop" the things we talk about.

My bank did something like this before. I added it to PayPal and bank denied all transactions to PayPal so they limited my account. Got settled it and got my account working again.
