We have around 8k locked in a paypal account which was permenantely suspended/limited for violation of the AUP.
The light at the end of the tunnel was that the money would be able to be withdrawn but finding this thread in 2019 is concerning.
We were selling in-game virtual currency for a video game as a merchant account. We hit with DCMAs on social media and shopify as well.
Please advise anyone who has experience with this.

Same thing happened to me as well. Same industry + plus dmca on shopify. I got the DMCA shopify the same day within an hour as my pay pal was closed down which makes me think the pay pal was closed because of the gaming company and not chargebacks which are around 1%
