Asking For SSN - Risk It?

I've had several stealth PayPal accounts and legit accounts...I can't remember if I ever gave my SSN on one of my accounts. I recall using EIN's...and I imagine that if I went about getting an EIN, it was because i had already used my SSN on an account...but I can't be sure.

Fast forward to today, PayPal wants my SSN. It's an account about 6 months old. I've made almost 200 sales. Do I risk it with using my SSN and hope that if I did use it, it isn't linked? Or come up with an EIN? I did read someones post that upgrading and adding an EIN didn't end the need for adding a SSN....not sure if there is any fact to that.

Any advice would be appreciated.

If its a stealth account that is not on your name you cant use your own SN cause it wont match the name on the account.

I should have specified...this particular account has my real name with the exception of one letter.

can u tell me this.. that when making paypal accounts, does it always asks for only the last 4 digits of SSN or a complete SSN?

it needs all 9 digits so it can send you and IRS 1099K if you exceed 200 transactions and $20k in a year

Try using an EIN first for your account.

Next time spread your sales on multiple stealth accounts.
