Default PayPal Limitation: Need Advice

Recently I received an email from PayPal saying I can no longer use their services and they have limited my account so I can't do anything on it no longer and have frozen all the cards on the account(which is all the cards that I possess). The reason they gave was that I had too many disputes but I only had 2 within the last year and they were legitimate. Anyway, I would file a complaint with the Financial Ombudsman Service (UK) to try and recover the PayPal account but I'm only 17 so, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think I could safely put a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ date of birth to say I'm over 18 as I'm worried it could cause me more problems compared to just leaving PayPal. My other option would be to call PayPal and act dumb saying that I was unaware that I'd have to be 18 to own a PayPal account and ask them to close the account permanently and then just open a new account when I'm 18.

Any help is appreciated.

Neither of the options you postulated will work, sorry.
As your account is legit, wait until your 18th birthday to get your money back. Hopefully, your next birthday is ahead of 180 days - as you'd have to show your ID again to withdraw your money.

That's the good part.

On the other hand, you would have obtained their cards under the pretext of being eligible for it. When your funds are ready to be withdrawn, they could decide to keep it.

I'd hope for the best but stay quiet in the interim if I were you.

Good luck

Yeah Ok, thanks. Don't have any money in the account luckily so I guess I will just have to wait it out until I'm 18 which hopefully I can then open a new account.

You won't be allowed to open a new account when you turn 18.

You'd have to resolve the current issues in your favour or stay suspended.

You think it's worth trying to solve the problems now or wait until I'm 18?

You can try but it is unlikely to be resolved in your favour.
Otherwise, you can open a stealth account or wait until you're 30 to open a fresh one with your details.
Anything else will be akin to flogging a dead horse.

Mc011 is one of the most complex restrictions on eBay. Keeping customers happy "all of the time" is ebay law.

I was in the exact same situation as you OP since i was banned after they saw i was 17 (underage and a few £hundred locked in the account).

Follow this;

1) Phone them to close your current account and genuinely make it sound like you forgot to read the terms (since you were a kid).

2) They will close the account, and let you start fresh when you turn 18.

3) When you reopen the account, MAKE SURE TO USE DIFFERENT CARDS OR A NEW BANK ACCOUNT (THAT IS KEY OF COURSE).

4) My personal real paypal is still working because of this, they will understand you made a genuine mistake. I pleaded with them to release the money and they did after a month. Then i simply made a new paypal after my birthday lol!
