| | | newtools | 08-08-2010 12:13 AM | Just a sot in the dark but as a reverse, would it be worth it to sell fast and hard high profits items knowing you get limited for 180 days if you knew in 6 months yo would have a great deal of profit? Would you be willing to spend $700 to have 3500 profit in 6 months. or 1500 upfront to know in 10 days you will have 8 - 10k
what do you think? |

what do you think? | Ah, that variable got tried elsewhere. (Deffo not here). Seller did the BIG quick fast, wham bam let's make bucks as you are suggesting.
Not only did the account get the limitation, it also got'the go jump we are holding your funds because 'we' think you are scamming.' I am aware of some of the circumstances of the deal....special items that are always flagged. The bottom line was paypal Utah did not approve release of the funds.
You need to bear in mind that last November paypal changed its T&C....they are applying them to these limitations more & more.
Take that as a not recommended :peace: |
Truth be told. I got one of my accounts released in 5 months. |

called and got a nice lady. she was so sweet. gave her a story about my family needing the money to pay bills (true). she said hold on let me see what I can do and 5 mins later she said I will give you a one time withdraw. I said thank you and bye bye. |
| SaiJin | 08-23-2010 06:45 PM | Well, you got very lucky. Sometimes in a den full of monsters, there is just one or two angels who does care and does the right thing. |
| hamoudy339 | 08-23-2010 09:47 PM | So, after I read that someone was able to withdraw their funds after 90days I called and asked for the same thing. And sure enough they allowed me to wihtdraw the money to my bank account. Now I just got to wait 3-4 days. |
Hmmm. These guys at PayPal feeling some pressure? They seem awfully accommodating lately. |
| jbluntz | 08-23-2010 10:48 PM | I wish I had some money in there I'd call em to but every account I've ever had that got limited never had more than $100 or $200 in it and that usually ends up going toward fees. |
| Burning | 08-25-2010 01:26 AM | The account becomes useless after you get your money out... |
| boxcutters | 08-25-2010 01:39 AM | I have about $1200 locked up in one account. Its been limited for about a month. As soon as this one dispute gets finished(waiting for item to be sent back) I'm gonna call them up and see what convincing I can do! I'll pull some **** outta my ass and start crying if I have to.
will post results soon ! |

| happysale | 09-23-2010 02:23 AM | I just got my account permanently banned today after being with them for almost 10 years. Despite having provided them with all the requested documents but to no available, they still believe I pose a risk to Paypal community. Anyway, I just want to ask if at the end of 180days, you can add bank account but will you be able to delete it after you have added it? What's about other financial info, can you delete it too? |
You cant ever really delete anything from them. Meaning they still have the info. You could delete all the info and close paypal account, but they still have all the info and keep it.
If worried about cards and banks, close them up or just change numbers with your bank. They will do it for you no problem.
And all info used on that paypal account can never be used again. Ever |
| EFIL4OREV | 10-01-2010 02:52 AM | I have just had my first hold put on my pp account i think for having 1.2k and trying to withdraw it. Not actually mine but my friends account. He has to send in info like drivers licence and all that crap. I hope they dont put a 180 day hold on the account :( well i guess i can attempt to get the money after 90 days instead of 180. I have a feeling that if they review it and compare some stuff like cookies and IP between the ebay and paypal that they will put a hold on it. :(
pray for me! |
| jason357 | 10-01-2010 03:29 AM | Has anyone actually worked out why paypal do the limitation thing!! Its simple maths, just imagine how much cash is in the 180 day hold around the world at any one time!! bet its a few quid' worth in interest, thats the reason they limit accounts I believe, it dosent bother me the parting ways email anymore, I know my paypals will be limited, so just wait the 180 days and withdraw, its the initial kicks in the nuts though, as 6 months is a while, but once you have rolling paypal accounts coming up to the end of the 180 days its no problem. |
Paypal makes money off of keeping "our" money for 6 months - few 3 month GICs, few 6 month GICs, some active trading - legitimated thieves... |

As far as I see, I have no option avaliable to delete financial info or delete a bank account since my paypal has been limited |
| newtools | 10-14-2010 05:17 PM | rsot your def right. amazon hold for 3 months because they are waiting until the 90 days chrageback period for Cc issuers is up. so they do not loose any money. There si no reason for paypal to hold for 6 months.
Is there ever an instance when paypal will NOT release the funds after the 180 days and any chargebacks or claims have been resolved?
I wanted to see if i can turn and burn some ebay accts. where items i can't sell on amazon can be sold. |
| tony12ho | 10-15-2010 05:26 PM | Can anyone tell me what I have to do after 180 days? PayPal limited my account back on April 10, 2010... 180 days Oct. 10, 2010 my account is still limited. I cannot withdraw my money or anything. What do I have to do? |

However, did you get a "parting ways" email back in April? Or is accounts just limited? |
| tony12ho | 10-16-2010 02:02 PM | Its parting.
