Default New Paypal Identity Verification

I had this ebay account opened around sept 2009, tried to bring it back to life by logging in frequently. So i listed my first item successfully, second item.....BAAAAAAAM
MC027 Billing - Temporary Exclusion From Automatic Payment of Selling Fees

MC010 Support Warning - Account Security (Selling) - Restored Account

MC027 Billing - Temporary Exclusion From Automatic Payment of Selling Fees

Like 3hrs later Paypal Limitation RX033, which involves 3 step limitation process to confirm identity. I did all the 3 and later called Paypal to lift the limitation. The guy told me to hold on for a minute. A minute turned out to be 7 minutes, "can i have your last 4 numbers of your social security because i couldn't find your information on public record" Wow, they have started too??????? I just told him to lemme do the photo ID thing, so he added "submit govt ID" TO THE THE LIMITATIONS.
i just verified this account and it's a roast now. Zero transaction!!!

Wait - "it's a roast now" - you got limitations lifted?

And that sentence "Can I have your last 4 numbers..." just a ploy to waste time - you were going to be asked for government ID anyhow.

"It's roast" means i don't need the account again.
Driver's License, Military ID and Passport.
Mind you i have no transaction on this account. Was trying to list my sony ericsson phone before ebay was restricted.

What was the first item you listed? Perhaps the limit was 1 item, then when you tried to list the 2nd one which is that phone, bam.

This is a new method paypal is using to get your ssn. I had this happened to 3 of my accounts and I wasn't selling anything just buying only. Basically I had to steps to complete which was completed so I called up paypal and the agent said I will need to ask a few questions to verify your indentity. I'm thinking it's like how eBay does there, nope paypal requires last four of Ssn. What pissed me off I did all the steps to lift the limitation but the agent said there not going to lift the limitation and my account in shut down never sold anything, these accounts Were created for buying only.

Default Just make them up

If it is a ploy to waste time, you could just throw some numbers out there and insist that is your last 4. Might work, probably wont. PP SUCKS! I rather use CCNOW and pay the damn 5%

I have not had this happen on any of my accounts. My most recent was started 2 weeks ago, and I am already making sales, albiet low dollar items and nothing VERO or high-risk.

And if you make them up, as the last post recommends, then write it down. You never know when you might be asked again in the future. On my last verification PayPal asked for my DOB. Luckily, I document EVERYTHING. So, I was able to give it without hesitation.

it hasn't happened to you yet because your account is not limited (Yet)! trust me i am very crafty with paypal so its not because i opened my account incorrectly my last to account withdraw 4k each with no problem. as i stated above i was buying with my buyers account plus you cannot give out bogus numbers that just make it worst and your account get shut down for good. this only happened with my buyer paypal not sellers which usually once limited your required to show proof of ssn when receiving payments.

as i ask a paypal agent over the phone whats the main reason why paypal is doing this? i was told there its a new way to confirm your the owner of the account.

good luck to you all with your limitations.

Anyone have info on what this new confirmation procedure might be?
I've been with PP for over 5 years and just got limited for unknown reasons. I have have made them tens of thousands of $'s and have a perfect history with them and eBay.
Their demand to do a credit check is intrusive.

I just created an account 2 days ago. Logged in 1 time on ebay ( to list item) and with paypal I never logged in after creating account. I sell 2 items on ebay for $25...suddenly I get a phone call from Paypal 2 hours later, I dont pick up in time, and 2 minutes after the phone call my account is limited.

Were the items high-risk or what were they?

I'm somewhat an "older member" and it happened to me too. And I listed a broomstick on a 1-year old account. Yes, a used broomstick in gardening tools, no joke.

About 2 months ago? I'm sure it's still happening, but I'm not in the mood of wasting another old account to find out.
