Paypal cancelled my check after I received it!
So I recently received a withdrawal check from paypal. Two days after receiving it, I deposited it. Yesterday I spent some of the $ that was in the account from the check, and today I woke up to see that my bank account is negative =( So I look at my bank transactions and see something called "memo debit" That was put through the account for 175.50, pushing me into negative. Then I check my email, and see a message from paypal saying this...
On Dec. 31, 1969, you withdrew -$275.50 USD from your PayPal account by check. This check was undeliverable and returned to PayPal. As a result, we have cancelled the check and the amount has been re-added to your PayPal balance.

I'm super confused now. First of all, the check was issued in august...not december, and certainly not over a decade before I was born lol Also, the check was NOT returned as undelivered. It was received and deposited. Since receiving the check, I hadn't looked at that paypal account, but now I see that the account was limited for some reason a day before I deposited the check. Does anyone have any idea why my bank would debit me for 4175.50, if the check that was cancelled was for $275.50? That makes no sense to me. Also, can they do that? Is it possible for them to just cancel a check (and reverse payment) if it has been received and deposited? Any insight is appreciated. This has made me weary of doing any check withdrawals in the future if they can just go back and reverse the payments like this =(
