I don't think it'll limit your either.

Add a bank account though, WaMu is easy to signup and works with Paypal without an issue. Become confirmed and you really won't have to worry about a limitation.

thelizardking 06-10-2008 04:22 PM

All new accounts are limited at some point, so don't let that discourage you, but once you get around the Limitation you will have more freedom...

godihatepaypal 06-10-2008 04:47 PM

well as it is they want proof of where i live, of my SS#, wanted me to send a tracking number so they could *make sure* i was selling the stuff i was selling, and of course i cant prove i live at a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address, or provide a SS# for someone who dont exist, so thats my major grip i guess

Paypal Limted account spending

Can you still spend money on site from your paypal account even through its limited? cause it says you cant

receive payments
send or request money
electronically transfer funds from your PayPal account
close your account

but it says nothing about spending money online

GreenBean 06-17-2008 01:52 AM

What does SEND money mean? Have a think about that and you get the answer.

Guys, let the Kid work it for himself, PLEASE.....

trust & safety retards 06-17-2008 05:53 AM

I see your point THAKID.

Quick question,

If you were to purchase something online what would you be doing with your money in Paypal to pay for it?

a) Sending the money
b) Giving the money
c) Spending the money
d) Transferring the money
e) All of the above

I also would not advise that you try to make any attempt at logging in to a suspended account or creating a new account as I have a funny feeling it will not last that long.

aspkin 06-17-2008 03:35 PM

What is with all the obvious questions the last couple days?

trust & safety retards 06-17-2008 03:51 PM

I am not sure with the OP question but I have asked a couple of questions that I was hoping some of you more knowledgeable people would have the answers too but it seems to have gone unanswered. They are all problem related to my current situation. If the answers are too sensitive to answer in public I would appreciate it if someone could PM me.

Thanks!

PayPal Limited due to Password Change

I changed my password on my PayPal account today, and then a few hours later, here's what I get...

Jun. 19, 2008: We have reason to believe that your account was accessed by a third party. We have limited access to sensitive PayPal account features in case your account has been accessed by an unauthorized third party. We understand that having limited access can be an inconvenience, but protecting your account is our primary concern.

In my opinion I think this is a bunch of crap. I changed my password and primary email address for my own security, and now they limit my account because they believed some "hacker" stole my account and now they want me to go through their verification process. Should I just comply and do whatever they say? But the problem is, they want me to confirm the address on a VCC, which is at the VCC's company place. So how can I get around this problem?

adl0816 06-20-2008 12:01 PM

Nevermind, I managed to clear the limitation on my account. This can be closed.

aspkin 06-21-2008 02:11 AM

Yeah, this is pretty common. It usually happens when you change your IP address and then change your account details. Same thing with eBay.

It's usually easy to clear up, as you found out.

Can you Be Limited due to Too Many Deferred disputes??

I have got 2 deferred disputes this month, 1 deferred dispute last month. And will probably get another deferred dispute in the coming days. I know it doest look good but my shipment resupply is seriously delayed.

I just want to know if PayPal limits an account based on this..

aspkin 06-25-2008 10:39 PM

If they are huge dollar amounts, maybe... but if it's under $100-$200 it shouldn't be an issue. Just take care of them and you should be okay.

Limited & need proof of payment

Hi all,

My PP is limited/frozen, I refunded a buyer with part PP funds and part postal order, PP want proof that the buyer was refunded, I don't have a copy of the postal order as this was lost.

Can I make up a false one or what should I do.

greg2414 06-27-2008 09:22 AM

can the customer back you up?

richcollegeguy 06-27-2008 11:06 AM

Call paypal and tell them that. From there they should contact the buyer

fathersymes 06-28-2008 09:15 AM

The buyer returned my item and he has been paid, relations with the buyer would not be good though!

I will just ask PP to contact the buyer and confirm payment.

Just a tip to others:

If you're running a business on Ebay/PP, don't get into disputes, just refund and move on, build the losses into your business plan.

thelizardking 06-28-2008 05:35 PM

Most of the time ive just worked things out with the buyer before refunding or even before they open a dispute, unless I have one those crazy ones...

never avoid a buyer's messages cause this is what usually causes a dispute or escalation and they won't help you out...if you communicate well with the buyer they will appreciate that and won't do anything rash like leave neg fb...even if you have to come up with a little story...don't ignore them

If you do end up refunding always use Paypal that way you will always have that going for you..

Most of the time I convince the buyer to keep the item rather than returning it for a refund but ofcoarse we all know there are a few that are truly insane...so just use common sense and judge what kind of buyer they are...

I use HSBC now. They are strict, but paypal likes them. I have transferred about $28,000 with no problems. Not a good idea to open many accounts with HSBC.
