| | | cadntua | 04-23-2008 06:35 AM | The thing is i did not finally sell the items because they limited my account and i just refunded my friend. But now they also want details about the auction with the tickets and i am not sending them anything more.I just want to be quiet .So there is no way paypal asks for money or something like that after i got limited and never got to a solution? |
| dawizard | 05-01-2008 09:55 AM | Paypal Limited... what now New Ebay and Paypal Account... verified all seems fine. First couple auctions paid, shipped, money recieved and removed from Paypal Account.
Then auction off a couple more higher priced items (in the $200-$300 range). Get paid, ship, wait a couple of days... transfer funds out of paypal and bam get limited.
They are asking for supplier invoices. The items were electronics I'm not using anymore (an old digital camera, ipod, and camcorder). I don't have invoices. They said send photos. Sent the ones in the auction... they said send photos with me in the picture with the items. I cant... I already shipped the items and they have been recieved by the buyers. Paypal already has the tracking #'s and can see that the items have been recieved... I've even gotten positive feedback from the buyers, but they are insisting.
?????WTF |
| divine422 | 05-01-2008 07:30 PM | Routine Limitation Soo i was definitely expecting the paypal limitation today...in fact i made it happen by withdrawing all the funds to my bank account just to get it over with. I got a large amount to my account so that was expected. As soon as the person paid i shipped and added tracking number...but i knew it was going to be limited. Checked my email..no limitation...checked again..nothing...about a hour later there it was. Before it would bring terror and my heart would sink and literally feel sick. This time i smiled. I had the invoices, photo id, bank statement, tracking number, supplier info, credit card statement, toll free number to upgrade to business account just waiting for them...of course i didnt want it to seem too planned so i waited afew hours before i uploaded. Im expecting the "your limitation has been lifted email" shortly..hopefully im not being to cocky :) |
| ebayhateluv | 05-01-2008 08:32 PM | Good Going.. PLANNING--Thats whats gonna save us!!!! :) |
| ebay-sucks | 05-01-2008 09:40 PM | Great job!
Having your act together really takes away the headaches. |
| MasterChief | 05-01-2008 09:52 PM | Double Limitations? Well,
I have a suspended Paypal account with a bit of money in it due for withdrawal in a few months. But day before I got another limitation notice from Paypal on it.
WTF?
Does this mean the clock is reset? Or is it just some dumb bot/procedure etc etc? |
| divine422 | 05-01-2008 11:09 PM | Im pretty sure there is no way they can legally keep it longer than 180 days...i have never had problems getting money back after 180 days. |
| GreenBean | 05-01-2008 11:23 PM | this is the old paypal's right hand does not know what the left hand does. Not surprised to hear this is still happening. |
| thelizardking | 05-02-2008 02:07 PM | This is standard to be limited after a withdrawal on a new account, call them and say they were personal items that you have had for a while and you don't have receipts or invoices...
Is that all they are asking for? |
| ganbala | 05-04-2008 11:31 PM | All newer PayPal accounts will be limited and asked for info at some point. Hello guys, just have this question that with a verified account, will it get limited if you spend a large amount at once? I know through this forum that by receiving a large transfer will get you flagged, but how about this other way around? Thank you for any input!! |
| guitarca18 | 05-05-2008 12:45 AM | I had a 1 y/o steady verified account with about 4000k/month income. One time I had to pay for college tuition for my girl which was about 1600 and they immediately limited my account but once I explained what happened they lifted it.
Hope this helps somewhat..I guess the answer is possibly yes. |
| Sammi007 | 05-05-2008 03:43 AM | I think it depends on how long you've had the account for...
I sent off $1500.00 to someone about 6 months ago and I wasn't even in the country where I created my PayPal account and nothing happened...
I think this may happen more likely to new accounts....where PayPal computers see "High Risk Activity"... |
| dawizard | 05-05-2008 08:35 AM | They asked for a couple other things that were no big deal, but when I emailed that I did not have invoices they said to send pictures with ME in the picture with the items. since I already shipped I can't really do that. |
| GreenBean | 05-05-2008 08:40 AM | Call their bluff: tell them AGAIN that the items were old household items that you disposed
of and ask how can you send photos when they Paypal know that the buyers have the items. |
| divine422 | 05-05-2008 10:09 AM | Firstly invoices arent that hard to make, the first step to sucessfully using paypal is to accept getting limited. Well im not sure how you can say now O those invoices i didnt have before kinda popped up. Call them, i actually like their customer service. |
| ganbala | 05-05-2008 01:03 PM | Thank you so much for the input!! |
| southwind562 | 05-05-2008 01:52 PM | I've run across the same problem several times. The problem is ebay/paypal doesn't want you to get big quick. I have multiple seller accounts and the ones where I was only selling things for under $30 dollars have all been around past the 6 month period.
The minute I started listing something over $100 I would get limited with paypal with the same standard response. I sold a pair of jeans I bought for an ex-girl friend and they wanted the receipt also. Sent receipt/copy of tracking #/and copy of positive feedback, and what did I get. "We will send you your money in 180 days".
I've learned that the best policy is to remain small until you are seasoned. I know it goes against all business principle, but it's better to fly under their radar and still make some money, then get limited and have money setting there you can't get to.

PS: Only 147 days until paypal releases my 8K. |
| suckitebay | 05-06-2008 07:04 AM | Paypal limited, info submitted, 2 weeks no reply! Hi! First time on this site, wish I had found it sooner. Anyway, I hope someone can help me. For no reason at all (I guess because of a routine Paypal limitation), my verified Paypal account was limited. They requested the usual- tracking numbers, invoices, and ssn. I refused to provide ssn due to personal security issues and they asked me to send in utility bill and proof of ID. I sent it nearly 2 weeks now, and phone reps keep telling me it should take only 24-48 hours and there is nothing they can do. Is this a bad sign? How long has it taken for a decision for other people? I have even emailed complaints-response@paypal.com which seems to work for everyone who tried it, but not me! Thanks in advance for reading. |
| divine422 | 05-07-2008 12:55 AM | w0ot! 'Limitation has been removed'!!!
It took a little longer because although the buyer received the item on friday the delivery confirmation isnt updated until the next business day. So they sent me confirmation that my documents were fine on Sunday but they couldnt remove the limitation yet because it didnt show the item as shipped and call them when it does (this was my first expensive item). I called them on Monday so it was reviewed again and they said within 24 - 48hrs i should get a response and within 48hrs i did. Money in the bank! I think its about time i become a registered supporter! :) (already got the ebook). Googling 'ebay suspension' and then finding this site was like finding gold! |
| ebayhateluv | 05-07-2008 12:57 AM | GREAT! Happy for ya, Divine!!!! :) |
| aspkin | 05-07-2008 01:13 AM | Good stuff divine422, glad the forum could help. |
