Default The easiest thing!!!!! MUST READ!

Guys, you have provided me with sooo much information. Now it is my turn to help you out!

I will be honest I was selling VERO items. Each item sold for around 150-200 dollars each. I made about 2K in one month.... That wasn't the only thing I was selling also selling non vero items making around 30 bucks each. Logged in today and saw I was limited. This was the second limitation I have ever been under. and I liked this account had over 20+ feedback a year old. Very nice. So I decided to CALL UP PAYPAL!

Guys it was a piece of cake be nice and polite
I told them That My dad had these certain items for his business that needed them but he had extra and wanted me to get rid of them on ebay. I told her I have great feedback and Not one complaint. She understood and said let me take care of this for you. I said I was unable to provide invoices and contact info cause he gets the items from numerous places and they have been laying around for a while and blah blah cant find the Supplier. She lifted the limitation as well as I DID NOT NEED A SSN because that was only there cause of the limitation

Anyways guys. Be polite, They are nice people over there at paypal. Create a good story and pretend that you are not to sure about everything. IE don't act like you know everything about paypal and ebay. PLAY DUMB.

Sorry if this wasnt good to read or I typed things wrong. I have a natural high right now lol

Have a good day! And any questions please ask them!

Being polite is always good avice.

Congrats on saving the account!

Realize, however, that part of this was luck. Some reps are nice and some are jerks, just like with everything else in life. But you are spot on with the above advice. You cannot control whether or not the PayPal rep is a jerk, but you CAN control yourself.

I'm guessing this wasn't a stealth account right?

No this account had all real info. But even if it was stealth all they ask you to confirm your self is bank account number and your email address and name stuff you should have written down.

Also side note. If its not a women HANG UP. When you first call they will give you some random person who just wants account details don't worry about that person. Wait until they TRANSFER you to a specialist. If its a women your chances are up.

Nice job! If the rep can do something about your account, most likely they can, then gain their favor and they will go out of their way to help you.

Paypal is easy to deal with if you understand how they work.

Polite and even more importantly, friendly towards them is always key. For one, they are just doing their crappy job and don't make the rules. And two, they have your life in their palms. One key stoke and its all over. treat them like your best freind in the world. Because at that moment, they are.

I have been very lucky with PayPal reps. They are almost always very nice to deal with. And in most cases seem to pretty much know what they are talking about. Thats surprising in customer service.

Now if you get a cranky one be extra nice and get off the line! They are either power trippers or having a real crappy day. Either way they can turn you off like a switch. So end the call short and sweet. Call back the next day and hope for a sweetie and then you can get somewhere.

Interesting, I find the females as a rule much nicer.

But again, I have been pleasantly surprised at how nice its been dealing with them at PayPal for sure.

I have an extreme easy time with paypal and ebay reps.... I talk myself out of limitations and suspensions without having to fax them squat. I think it's my lisp, it makes me sound innocent

I think I read somewhere that women are less prone to social engineering.
But regardless, sugar coating everything always helps your argument in this situation.

I worked for a call center for AT&T and just by the way the customer says "Hello" you can tell where the call is going. Being nice always works anywhere.

Agree with Jeff, but when im on the phone with someone that can make my life miserable, and can ruin my livlihood, I always like to work in the fact that I am a disabled veteran, and my wife is deployed to Afgahnistan at the moment. Gets me out of many traffic tickets.

I used the "I am a veteran and got back back from Iraq and maybe going back in 6 months" a few times. It was worked for me about 90% of the time.

I am really a veteran but only serviced in the Navy. People like to hear you where in the Army or Marines, and not Navy. The only thing the Navy does is send time out at sea and fire missiles at a target hundreds of miles away.

Actually I was in The Marine Corps, and I am 15 percent disabled, but not from any combat operation. Hurt my knee loading a C130. Doesn't affect my mobility in any way, but the check from the government, and free VA medical care is nice.

But yes, claiming your veteren status is a plus, also doesn't hurt to mention that you lost your home in the housing crisis.

My .02:

If I am uneasy about the way a conversation is going I will nonchalantly ask the PP rep if they are an eB@y seller.

I have found that reps that have sold on eB@y are 1000x more agreeable than non-eB@y sellers. They understand where you are coming from as a seller and are more likely to meet you half way with problems such as "My home is being foreclosed on, my credit cards are maxed out, and you're telling me I can't even print shipping using PP even though I've been paid and you want to hold my money for some unknown reason?"

Yeh, I also able to lift my limitation 2 times with 2k $ in Paypal each time. Actually they are good people. We just need to know how to convince them that we haven't done anything wrong.
