Default Best email provider that paypal can't track?

I am going to be opening up a stealth account and though I don't need to go into my account that often, I do want to be able to check my email account to see that the transactions are going through. I have read the guide and it seems like gmail is the best, but do you have to turn off the pictures and attachements thing?

Because I would use the same computer to log into my email address that belongs to a limited account as well as my new email address that belongs to my new account. I would then use another computer when I wanted to transfer funds, like once a month. Is there anyway paypal or ebay can track just by opening up the emails? Is gmail the best?

Thanks...

They don't track you by "opening email". Even if they do track you, it is done via IP check. It have nothing to do with the email provider.

It doesn't matter if you pick gmail, hotmail, yahoo mail, whatever. You can use any public email service to your preference, really. Gmail is prefered simply because it's hosted by Google, and the service offered is great.

For the paranoid, download all your email through POP3 to Outlook. Unplug the network cable, turn off the wifi, then read your email. Unless eB rep is peeking over your shoulder, there's no way for them to read your email.

A strong statement but I'm actually looking for something stronger. I'm literally worried about Stalinist eBay analyzing my private email replies the same way that Google does; are you categorically sure that eBay doesn't do this? Also, I have yet to figure out how to send such a reply without my IP being in the header, which is something I also don't want eBay to see. Again, do you think this is a non-issue because eBay isn't paying attention to this? EBay seems to be damn interested in forcing this email to go through their server, instead of having people communicate directly with each other, which would lower eBay's cost.

If you use gmail to send mail then only the IP of their servers are contained in the headers not your actual IP, that's why the guide recommends it.

This was true originally, but now it is either highly unreliable or no longer the case at all. Anybody know any good alternatives that do?

@OP -

You want to do research both on Google and these forums about "Web Bugs" which are small 1x1 pixel images which are see-through which email marketers use to collect cookie and IP data when an email is opened and the image is viewed. The 1x1 clear pixel image is encoded to sniff the cookies and transmit data about your computer back to the sender for tracking.

The reason they are 1x1 pixel and clear is so they are first picture to load when you open your email.

This is why the stealth guide recommends you disable images in your email. eB has been known to send emails with WebBugs, especially in their "Congratulations!" emails.

---------------------------

Unless you are talking about them tracking your "email replies" if you are replying directly to eB messages that are sent to your email and letting eB forward them to the sender. If you reply directly to your eB messages through your email you are surely screwed.
