| | | davepeters | 05-25-2011 07:58 AM | Paying ebay fees once an account is limited Had a read thru the Stealth book - interesting read.
My account has been limited. In the meantime my ebay fees which would normally come straight from paypal are due.
If I ring up paypal will they let the fees be paid to ebay?
Also once these ebay fees are paid will ebay shut my account as my paypal has been limited.
If this is the case then I don't really see any point in me paying the due ebay fees if they are goin to shut this account.
Also essentially this account will no be dead as I won't be able to hook up a new paypal account to it will I without that also being limited? |
This has happened to me. Your pp is limited right? 180 days? If so, they will NOT allow you to pay eb ay - this has caused problems for me before.
Use a gift credit card to pay the fees - if you care. |
| ShadyOne | 05-25-2011 05:48 PM | Yeah, they do not let you pay using a limited PayPal. Add a CC, VCC or gift card etc and pay that way. |
| davepeters | 05-25-2011 09:34 PM | Yeah thanks for that.
But ultimately what is the point of paying the fees?
This account is now essentially dead - I can't add another paypal to it without it being flagged yeah? |

I paid them fees not due them via a money order. Within a day of receiving it, they re-activated my account despite the Ebay rep saying it takes a week to 10 days
They can ruin your credit if you do not pay them. If it is linked to your real information. |
If you don't pay the fees then if they manage to link one of your future accounts then they will try and make you pay for them anyway. |
| SaiJin | 05-26-2011 08:53 AM | Hey, eBay stealth is to be used to help victims, okay... not to be abused.
Don't go around posting this kind of BS anymore, Davepeters... |
Solid point is did you set up the account in your real info? |

From what I have read on this forum it apears paypal try and get as much info from you as possible when they have no intention of letting you back on.
It makes sense that ebay would want to do the same - recoup any fees owed before they shut your account due to the fact that your paypal was limited.
If my train of thought is incorrect please say so - I am here to learn and get back on ebay this is why I purchased the Stealth Book. |
The main point is this - you pay eb ay if 1) you want to be done with it or 2) you want account to still be kicking but find other way than pa yp al for payment. Account is in f*ke info so they logically can't track you down.
That's the choice - all the best. |

Move on from this account if you cannot get it reinstated and the PayPal account is gone.
Paying the fees is up to you. Your scenarios have been explained by the guys above me. |
maybe your eb account wont get shut down
can you offer a pp alternative down under for recieving payments?,
you have to accept pp here in the uk,so if our pp goes down, all is lost and you make a newm pp/eb account
if your eb account is in good standing it may be ok
if the fees are like $200 and the account has like 7 feedback or something, forget and move on,make more stealth accounts
but if its a good account with loads of feedback and the fees are not too much, pay them and hope for the best
weigh it up |
| davepeters | 05-27-2011 06:25 AM | Cheers guys for the feedback. |

OP- I agree with the above.
If it is a good account and still has life left pay it and take the chance.
If it has some issues such as negs etc and the bill is high and cannot be made up then let it go and move on. |
Ahhh yes,

| mattinbkk | 03-19-2017 11:41 PM | Re: Paying ebay fees once an account is limited Hi guys and girls.
Sorry to drag this ancient thread back up but is this advice still valid?
I lost 4 pp's that were attached to decentish eb's and now the payments aren't going through for the monthly fees.
I've got no problem with just leaving them not paid but I've been hearing from others that after time you can open new pp's and attach them to the old eb's. This is for UK.
Anyone have any experience of this recently.
Appreciate your input. |

Appreciate your input. | Can it be done? Yes.
Will the PayPal? Yes and No.
How long will the new PayPal Last? Depends, could be 1 month, could be more.
In the end, it's a risk adding a new PayPal to an ebay account.....no one here is going to give you some kind of 100% guarantee on how long the new PayPal will last. |

Rest are long gone.
When you joined up with eBay/PayPal you accepted their terms. By default, they were paya dem fees.
Are you even sure your eBay's will stay up? What is happening that your PayPal are going down.
Let us know this info,please.
:coffee:
As for unknown people saying it is OK to the attach new PayPal site, I call BS....

Re: Paying ebay fees once an account is limited Welcome to the forums mattinbkk - MM78 nicely summarizes what could happen. |
| mattinbkk | 03-21-2017 03:57 AM | Re: Paying ebay fees once an account is limited Thanks!
The PayPals were linked I assume, 3 one day and another the next day. I don't exactly know why I lost them, they say that they think it is not me who has been using them.
Interestingly the only one I have in my name didn't go. That also happens to be the only one I don't use a VPN on and one which I have a loan outstanding. Not sure if I just got lucky and they didn't link it or they're waiting for me to pay the loan off.
Thanks for the help anyway. |
