| | | | | jgrewe88 | 01-01-2012 01:01 PM | Paypal accounts getting limited fast Hi, this is my first post here. after suspension on ebay about a year ago i read the ebook and have been stealth ever since. I have no problem maintaining an ebay accnt but my paypal's keep getting limited faster and faster every time. the most recent ones have been getting shut down within the first 2 or 3 sales on ebay. i know they weren't linked- everything was new, even my i.p.
address was real but not mine, and the phone was through inumbr
by all means i should have been fine. this is getting very frustrating because i have a bunch of merchandise and i can't keep a paypal running long enough to sell the stuff. and if i do manage to sell a good chunk of it first i have to pay $100's of dollars in shipping out of my own pocket and then wait the 180 days to get my money.
i currently have 3 accounts limited with nice sums of money. i'm just hoping i get the money out fine when the time comes, i haven't made it that far yet.
I appreciate any help you guys can provide. i'm in a real mess here. thanks. |
| GrannyT | 01-01-2012 02:03 PM | Are you linking new Paypal accounts to the same Ebay account or are you starting new EB/PP combos? |
| jgrewe88 | 01-01-2012 02:11 PM | well iv'e done it all and learned the hard way. but the latest was a completely fresh ebay and paypal bank verified. i mean i did sell about $450 worth of stuff that day when it happened(first day of use), but the funny thing is they limited it right after the first sale. i'm kind of wondering if this is something they are now automatically doing to new members after their first sale. maybe something there just starting now. just a theory. it's just not adding up. iv'e never seen it happen that fast for no reason. |
| stealthneedhelp | 01-01-2012 03:11 PM | maybe it's the merchandise you are selling is it vero items? listing to quick also is and many items is an eye opener to ebay, start off slow |
| jgrewe88 | 01-01-2012 04:26 PM | yeah i figure i'm going to start a lot slower this time around. i'm selling video game consoles and accessories. not sure if that's considered vero or not? |

You kinda answered your own question with the word 'fast'.
dear old paypal goes postal when accounts are used 'fast'.
So a new account, with no history, nothing to make it look remotely OK will be limited by paypal first. Choice is then for the user to remove the limits.
You mention verified? How? What did you use?
What steps are you taking when you make your paypal to have that account 'appear' OK?:ranger: |
| BiN4RY | 01-01-2012 09:01 PM | Don't forget to take in the consideration that it's still the holiday season. eBay/Paypal tends to be REALLY picky |
| jgrewe88 | 01-02-2012 06:17 AM | well i'm sure it's influenced by the fact that they are high risk items. but even though i moved too fast that day, keep in mind i was limited within seconds of the first item sold. it wasn't until after the limitation that another $400 in sales came in.
as far as how i made myself appear natural on paypal-
bank verified with accountnow, a real physical address that wasn't mine but close by, and a virtual phone number that comes through to my cell.
everything should appear ok and not out of the ordinary at all. unless they now have the ability to see the name on the bank account. i'm sure we all hope not.
in the past it was obvious why i was shut down and i learned from my mistakes but this is just crazy. i can't figure it out. i should have atleast got a few sales in before it happened, if not better. |
Listing Too Fast, makes them Too Furious. They watch you like a hawk and it's easier for them to limit you and then you need to verify yourself with docs ..etc.
Be careful and try to be under the radar all the time |
| jgrewe88 | 01-02-2012 05:14 PM | that's a good point vany. maybe i should verify my paypal and let them both sit for a week or two. then list one item every 2 or 3 days for a while before i try being a big shot. patience sounds like a good idea right now. i'd rather make slow sales than none at all. thanks guys for all the help. |
| newjerseymax | 01-03-2012 12:32 AM | I think it takes a good 90 days (3 manual reviews) to start listing anything high risk. sure sign that your getting higher on the risk chart is when 21 day holds come into effect. |
| FandangoKango | 01-03-2012 12:47 AM | If you don't have a verified account then expect to be limited at the 200-400 dollar limit. |
Electronics is always high risk - and selling this from the start is dangerous. Build some buyer feedback and nurture the account - 2-4 weeks before selling is an ok timeframe to work with. |
| newjerseymax | 01-03-2012 01:25 PM | Ive had luck selling non-branded electronics. Though those came at very low profit percentage. It did help me get started and they never had 21 day holds
The product:
FM mp3 transmitters |
| jgrewe88 | 01-03-2012 07:23 PM | wow i thought the 21 day holds were normal for all new sellers. it happened to me everytime. i think i'll start selling something else and just sneak the game systems in here and there til it's all gone. i just can't figure out what to sell. hopefully i can find something profitable soon. it's been a rough year since they first shut my real accounts down. |
| GreenBean | 01-03-2012 07:29 PM | accountnow is also flagged by paypal....that is something to consider :) |
| oblong | 01-03-2012 10:03 PM | Not speaking from experience, but perhaps sending in docs before you do the sale might lead to a smaller review time than 180 days, no? |

| jgrewe88 | 01-04-2012 05:57 AM | accountnow is flagged huh? makes me wonder what other ones are. |
| UndergroundMafia | 01-19-2012 08:00 AM | You just have the same probs like me... List one item... Got limitation... 5 account all like that... I think we should slow the business at beginning... Just sell under $50 item will be good.. |
| jgrewe88 | 01-20-2012 02:17 PM | yeah it's pretty rediculous getting limited after selling one item. it's a real waste of a bank account.
anyway, i set up two new accounts with more legitimate bank accounts in hopes that will look better. i'm using bank of america. i verified the accounts a week ago and have one item up for sale. when the item sells i'll let these cool down before listing another. i'd rather take it slow at first than not be able to do anything at all.
thanks for all the replies guys. good luck to everybody. |
| sasha | 01-20-2012 04:27 PM | Guys
Would you consider used electronics as high risk Vero items like used mobile phones under £100 or used games console Or does it have to be new?
Thanks |
| jgrewe88 | 01-20-2012 06:37 PM | i sell used xboxes and they are high risk, as are cell phones.i havent sold any cell phones so i don't know if the rules are different based on selling price. |

If you take a gander at alexa.com and see the ratings of various websites you will note that Paypal and Ebay have the lowest ratings in the top 100 websites.
About the only other one that had low ratings was a porn site.
Ebay has about a 2 out of 5.
What is needed is for someone to replace Ebay or for the President of Ebay to be replaced and someone who actually has a brain take the reigns. |
| bruceuk | 12-11-2012 03:20 PM | On a new account i have gone to the local junk store or i believe you call them thrift stores in US
Purchase some obscure non threatining rubbish and sell that for a few weeks .
Once you have a few FB and account has aged a little i then move it over into my mainstream items. |
| vogeltron | 12-23-2012 05:24 AM | Sounds like a Flash Cookie problem to me. You need to make a new windows account for every new eBay account. To pay the site their due respect. I would advise purchasing the stealth guide. For what it costs if you read it thoroughly it will help prevent all the frustration in the future. |
| stealthpaulstealth | 12-23-2012 06:11 AM | i sell video game stuff too, u cant do that. too risky.
you will get banmed very fast.
sell 1 10$ game eaxh month cor 3-4 months.
then you can list a system.
any game stuff is hign risk, hign vero
they assume its ⊗⊗⊗⊗ or u are scamming.
dont sell any new stuff or anything more than 10-20$ if your selling games
a new account selling a 500$ item will get banned almoat every time. |
| xenix | 12-24-2012 01:38 PM | I think Paypal somehow detects you. That's why your account is getting limited always. First please read the stealth guide and set up a new account correctly. Then check the items you are listing. |
| makavi94 | 12-25-2012 01:31 AM | Paypal account limited soon many reasons.4 main reasons below
1.IP
2.VCC
3.VBA
4.Receiving payments
