Default After Paypal Acc Limited, Does The Website Get Affected?

Hey guys,

If a paypal account gets limited, and it was once integrated to an e-commerce page, does that mean that e-commerce store gets affected too? Does Paypal blacklist it?

What if I use another paypal account for that same e-commerce store? Does paypal know?

Please do share your insights.

Thanks everyone in advance.

I would keep my options open.

Why not use other payment services like Google checkout for example if your not already using it?

Theres plently more services you can use - don't put all your eggs in one basket.

I think your e-commerce might be linked now even with a new paypal, however i'd say make a new stealth P/P and put in the e-commerce page - what have you got to lose apart from a stealth account? It may just work.

Best of luck,

Keep us updated.

If your pp tied to a store goes down, you CANNOT safely (again : SAFELY) use pp for the same store. Sure you could try stealth but it's a risk. I would go for different payment processor.

OK guys.

One more questions.

What if this same limited Paypal account was used for 2 other e-commerce sites?
Are they affected too?

Meaning, the two other e-commerce sites had the limited paypal on file before and
received payment with it.

When Paypal emailed me, the only mentioned one 1 e-commerce site which they attributed the limitation to.

Please do shed your insights.

I will keep you guys posted certainly when I get new stealth pp up.

Putting it simply - Paypal limits accounts, not websites. Therefore if your PP account is trashed every website associated with that PP or the details on that PP account is also trashed as far as PP is concerned

So you're saying if my other sites which have used the same PP are all pointless of using Paypal for now?

Or I can still use another Paypal account for the other sites which Paypal did not specifically target?

Basically, Paypal limited the account due to one site, not the other sites.

Listen to me - I will repeat it for you - Paypal limited the account therefore any information associated with that account is trash - no matter which website it is on.

Same information = same outcome = trashed

Tell me which part of information and trashed you are having difficulty understanding

What you're saying is, my other e-commerce store which used to accept payments also from the limited PP account, can no longer have another clean paypal on it correctly?

You can still invoice customers to a stealth pp from purchases from e-commerce.... But its not as efficient anymore.... Your best best is to start allover including the website...

I know this is a bad situation for you. I know someone in the same boat.

He also accepts google checkout, however sales have declined drastically since he cant accept paypal. Also, his site is worth over 30k so not so easy to just simply switch...

He is going route of invoicing customers.... I suggest a merchant account...

Not as a long term trading prospect.

Usual recommendation is to obtain another payment processor.

do you think you get the same amount of sales from a merchant account compared to paypal account?

Thank you for your input. What e-commerce platform did your friend use before?

Basically, this is what happened to me.

I had two e-commerce sites, both using the same Paypal (which got limited).
We'll call these two sites, site A, and site B.

When Paypal e-mailed me about the limitation, they were only targeting one of the e-commerce site, specifically: Site A.

I'm still deciding whether or not to risk a good account to place for Site B. Site B is a BigCartel site, which paypal didn't mention about.

I asked BigCartel whether they share information with Paypal, and they say they don't, and says I can put another Paypal for Site B.

Even if they say that information is not shared, once you accepted payment via the website then link has been created... Ideally a good merchant like GT mentioned should be long term goal anyways...
