Default Help! Scamming buyer what can I do?

Hi everyone
I recently sold an item ouside of Ebay and the buyer is obviously scamming me claiming there are so many problems with the item that I know are lies.
Anyway the buyer filed an Item not as described and he still has my item. I know Ill probably be screwed but is there any way I can ensure or if paypal will ensure that the item gets back to me in the same condition if paypal gives the buyer a refund and they must return it to the seller? Im worried it will be in worse condition or even replaced with something different.
Any tips or advice? Thx
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!

How do you obviously know?

Can you see into the future?

TBF, you made your own troubles by going off ebay to sell.

paypal will give you limited to no protection.

You would not qualify for the EB/PP buyer protection scheme due to you selling outside of its terms.

Why are you not communicating more with the buyer?

@SUaVE, buyer could still file through pp though SNAD.

@OP, why do you not provide proof that is needed?

Sadly, if your buyer is a scammer then there is not much you can do - how much was the value?

Well I cant see into the future but im bracing myself for the worst. Im in communication with the buyer until he filed and claim and is now ignoring my emails.
claiming lies when I was using the item a week before I sold it. Says its also missing some additional parts that were not agreed upon at the time of sale.
So yeah I guess I gotta play it out and hope for the best if the buyer has to send it back. Jus Just theres a loophole in paypals system that can allow the buyer to simply send a half empty box and as long as if has tracking would be proof enough for paypal.
How can possibly prevent something like that?

Dont use ebay or paypal.

Avoid opening yourself to troubles.

Again, as you did not reply, was this an off ebay transaction to avoid fees?

what I mean is..is there anyway to make sure the buyer sends the right part and condition it was in? Probably not.

Yeah guess not using either is the best way. Coz it makes no difference if it was listed on ebay or not. If paypal says to the buyer to ship it back and does so with tracking, he can put anything they want in the box as long as its trackable and the we seller still gets ripped off if its on ebay or direct. A fantastic loophole for scammers

Why do you keep evading the question.... was this supposed to be an eBay transaction, but you convinced the buyer to deal with you outside eBay?

You are talking about something as if it is already a reality, something that has not even happened & might not even happen.

You are not taking any actions to try win or mitigate this case in your favour but are focusing on this apparent 'loophole' thing.

Maybe you are trying to work out if this so called 'loophole' is something you yourself can exploit, maybe ???

Also a point for the OP for further sales of this nature is to avoid PP unless absolutely needed - there are other services you can google that can accept pp payment or cc payment that protects the seller better too.

So its better to wait until I get an empty box when I get my item back then try and ensure I get the item back the way I sent it? There IS a loophole and I dont plan on it being used on me. Thats the problem Im trying to avoid.

And ebay is besides the point. Ebay does nothing for scammers. Paypal doesnt care if you sell something on ebay or otherwise. Item not described is item not described and can be filed anyway the transaction goes. Its a scammers paradise.

And I have a feeling it probably will happen to mr coz this guy was making baseless threats and avoiding my emails. I dont trust the buyer as far as I could throw him

And SUVE..I AM trying to take action..thats why I posted here. I contacted paypal as much as I could but Im still stuck on how to make sure the buyer sends what I sent him. Its a very very high probability the paypal usually sides with the buyer in an item not described case. Sure Im looking into the future thats that is what will probably happen

And for what its worth.. NO im not trying to exploit it. Why would I need to exploit it??? It already is 100% foolproof there for any scammer to take advantage of. Youre post makes no sense

Why did you transact this sale outside of eBay ???

What was the value of the item in question ???

What kind of category of item might this be ???

What proof have you supplied to eBay/PayPal to support your case BEFORE, & IF we ever get to the 'empty box in the post' stage ???

If the buyer is or has made threats, why not report these to eBay ???

At the present time it is an INR case....what are your next steps ???

This avoidable situation is self inflicted as you might realize.

You need to give us some idea what made you decide to do an off ebay transaction.

You need to tell us why you tried to bypass the system.

PM me the reasons.
