Default After 200/20K, any account still ok?

After reaching 200/20K, anyone's paypal account still has not be requested for TAX ID and still works ok and not limited?

Or it is 100% thing that paypal will be limited from NO TAX ID provided?

Thanks

It is a need for paypal to comply with IRS requirements.

If IRS squeezes paypal, sellers will be squeezed in turn.

Do not forget, paypal may enforce with-holding 30% of gross earnings if tax ID requirements are not meet.

Most of the time you get limited even before you reach 100%

I know people who get up to $35,000 without complying. However, $35,000 is placed into their account within 3-4 days, it's happens very fast.

Normally 10k-15k will happen day one, funds are withdrawan, then 20k more follows over the next few days.

Account is Limited and they wait 180 days for the balance.

That's life the Stealth way.

These are people away from this forum?

Mainly our users have not reported getting a 180 day limitation as you said.
Maybe expand on this.

It has serious repercussions for us.

Doesn't the 200/20K start over to zero on January 1st? I was under this assumption and then went to revive 2 accounts that had met their limit and they're still showing limited.

If this is the case, that means that ss needs to be provided even though it's a new year?

Also, if it is true that it doesn't start over to zero at the beginning of each year, does it just keep getting added on until the limit hits? Meaning as an example-an account reaches $12K in sales in 2012, in 2013 gross sales will add onto the $12K or it will start over at $0?

The entire time of last year I had thought the clock started over and the possibility of that not being true is going to screw me to the point of possibly needing to throw in the towel.

Thanks guys.

lay low, don't bring attention to your account.

I haven't had to open an account in over a year and a half. I don't have the energy or nerves to create additional ones. And unfortunately my product is one that requires a very good reputation.

@Packattack12, did it happen automatically for you?

Yes, they are not involved with this forum.

I have a good friend who does 40k to 60k a month Stealth for 4 years now (no Ebay products, Digital Downloads). Most of the money enters into his account within 6 days (on average).

His accounts are all stealth. He recieves a notice for docss after he hits the 20k mark. Money will continue to be accepted into his account while PP waits for docs.

He tries to withdraw as much money as possible without getting limited.

Once he hits around 30k to 35k PP limits his account.

Once he fails to submit docs PP then Limits his account and any funds left are frozen for a 180 days.

He creates all his PP accounts with VPN, go figure.

Hope that clears it up a little.

P.S. I'll know firsthand myself in the next two weeks with my own PP account. I'll report back.

This could be a serious problem for me! It's the 3rd and my 2 maxed pp accounts still haven't reset. I get pretty close to $20k on all 9 of my accounts so the goal was just to keep them all under every year. If one gets too close, delete my listings (I only do BIN's) and let it sit.

I've got to find out how it gets reset since another user here said his did. Is it automatic, manual, on a schedule, random, based on last name in alphabetical order? Ugh.

Everyone needs to be prepared with people who have reported extremely low sales and items sold and getting the request.

200/20k means NOTHING.

It is just a target that the IRS give pp and pp wants to be ready if your account has the potential to get close to that number.

If you sell tons out of the gate in 2013 I would suggest you slow down and use more accounts.

Agreed Sandy.. I just got an RXI peyplap email about limitation... From an "compliance department" employee.. They are stepping it up. It seemed like a harsh email, asking for the info. BUT, the account still can accept funds and last year never met 19k. So i think it's just a scare tactic. BUT, you just never know when the hammer will be dropped....

When payp full on limits you, they send you an email with "RXI" in the subject along with a code. It's usually a serious limitation.

I just got one of those. I have 2 accounts that are requesting SS# so I thought I'd take a chance and ask about those limits being set back to $0/0 at the beginning of the year. Instead of answering me, it sent me one of those RXI emails asking for my SS#...

I have some pending cash in my pyp al for about 5 months now, i decided to email them, and that account is also the same one that got that email.. And it's still working fine, but keep in mind.........

Don't bother them if you don't have to or if the amount hassles etc.. are worth it. That's always the way i worked. Lesson relearned... heh

I'd take a $100 refund over them opening a case.. too many cases opened will flag you.I had a 100% TRS account flawless for 11 months. Then right before christmas he got bombarded by difficult customers. eg.. 3 negs and a few open cases in 1 month, e.... called me luckily i was home and answered. She asked if i was aware of the recent situations etc.. etc.. i spoke to her candidly like a professional and she said she was glad i was aware and resolving the situations. And i could continue to sell. have a nice day gg.. in the future it's best to refund, if complainer buyers want you to pay shipping... for a return, pay it. Not worth losing an account or a negative over anything less than 500-1000$ when that account could net you 19k pre taxes sales.

Absolutely TRUE!

That goes for any business regardless if it's Stealth or not. In todays internet environment it's way too easy for someone to destroy your reputation. Just look at all the Yelp lawsuits.

I happen to be a business consultant. I tell all my clients, "swallow your pride, give the refund, Blame yourself for the mistake, and ask the customer if there is anything else you can do to help them."

In many cases, not only has the customer not posted any negative info but they have become some of my clients best customers.

Business is hard in todays litigous environment. It's usually much easier to keep an unhappy customer for very little money vs a Mad customer who is out to destroy you.

God help the business owner who ticks me off!
