Default tried to pay with echeck and got limited.

ok i have a question that needs a serious answer. i had 2 paypal accounts both verified and not linked to any other account.

i tried to buy two items priced 479 and 550. i also tried to buy a few games for a couple dollars each. at first it showed my echecks were pending up till about day 3/4. then all payments were cancelled by paypal. paypal deposited the money in my account rather than back to my bank. my money, $1,500 in one account and $500 in the other. both accounts are limited and i am out 2 grand.

what i would like help with is how could i possibly buy with an echeck without running into this problem again. bthis even happens on transactions less than a dollar.

sounds as if the transactions are too high.

How old are the accounts?

Both stealth?

With E-checks, pp and eb can see your real name.

So with transactions that large, with mismatching names on both accounts,...well....serious flags are raised.

E-Cheques are not good for stealth

Use VCC next time

Did you use a totally different name or a name variation when it did work?

All payments were cancelled by PP...have you spoken to your seller? Is his account in good standing?

Anything else happened before the transfers?

Same seller involved?

Not saying 100% for sure but ...perhaps...your pp account came under manual review and the person saw e-checks coming from a bank in a different name - a possibility...

You can never pay by echeck if you have a stealth account with mismatching names. The name on the PayPal has to match the name on the Bank Account to a T or else it will be limited every single time.

More so if a manual review is done - one time uploads of funds seem to pass.

Not every time.

Not going to agree with that.

I have had no issues with UK paypal.

Potential is there not an absolute given of limitation.

I view ANY bank-to-paypal transfers as risky - unacceptably risky. Your bank transmits the account name with outgoing funds. At least it works that way here in the US.

In the United States, there is a clause in the User Agreement. They may somehow miss it from time to time. But if anyone feels like reading through the long US PayPal user agreement there is a section which specifically states if you try to deposit money and the name on the bank account does match that of they PayPal account it will be rejected. Thus, limited.
