I have an account with around £1000 in it and the 180 hold expired on the 24th Jan. However PayPal are asking for valid ID before they will release the funds. I sent them my stealth docs however these were rejected and PayPal are now refusing release of the funds.

Are they allowed to do this? Any suggestions on how I can get my money? Thanks.

Here's the problem

You agreed to their T&S when you joined. Your case may be one where they are playing hard ball.

Ive just had bought docs from here fail as well. thankfully I had more or less emptied the account prior to submission, so there is only a handful of change in there.

Also just had a win of having one account which had over 6k in it able to withdraw at 56 days after a few well constructed emails being sent .(cant send you the emails as I spent money obtaining certain legislation that was required etc)

If that is their bottom line and they have sent you their 'this is our final response' email, then you are in a rock and a hard place. I would go down the Financial Ombudsmen route, and take the chances in hoping that PayPal would rather not have FO interference as the amount is so low, because by the sounds of it, you have nothing left to lose on this one.

I know of a few people where this worked.

Just to update on my situaton - I called PayPal USA and they let me withdraw no questions asked. Up yours PayPal UK!

Quality. What was the reason for your limitation?

Ive just had mine able to withdraw as well, 60 days in the end.

I had an email on 1st feb from UK PP allowing me to withdraw my balance. That means it lasted 30 odd days from initial limitation.
I did not send any letters, emails or call PP. Just held out.

Dont worry Green Bean will be along to tell us soon that PayPal will still manage to not to give us our funds even though they are now withdrawn, because they have mythical powers than control everyone but him.

I am also wondering How TF your supposed to get the money out after the 180 days if the bank account linked is a phony? Should I link a legitimate account, I almost don't want to do that.

Also, after how long of being limited do you get your '180 day email'?

I have received an email stating they released 375$ from one of my accounts. But it has a VBA GMAC attached..


and when I click to add bank account it send me in an endless loop. Anyway to add this bank to withdraw?

If the account is limited past the 180 days then just call them up.

Tell them you need to add your bank and you need them to do it manually.

Or tell them to fix the loop while you're on the phone with them. :smash:

I just had to do this to a limited paypal.

lol but some paypal limited they will dont let you add bank and ask for ID or Proof , really bad .
