then your name/address is false, and your debit card is false,
and your phone can't be linked to you...
but there are still 2 links/holes.

1. The bank account (which as you just said, it's unlikely PP will jump through all those hoops).

2. Your i.p. address. I'm not sure whether that's a tall order too.
But I take it most of us are just changing the MAC address and thus changing the ip address...but it still comes back to us (unless proxy or VPN, but I don't think anyone here is using that for Ebay).

In my case, when I got this apartment, the internet was already flowing from the cable, so for 3 years I've had free internet and my ID is not on the bill. But I don't know if the ISP or whoever can still trace it to me.

P.S. All the above is just idle curiosity.
I'll throw my hat in with the others and chant, "Pay your fees...because."
It sure sounds like one person told all the others to just repeat that for no reason (or for an unspoken reason...probably to keep Ebay fees from rising).
I feel like I stepped into 1984.

My mobile broad band dongles are pay as you go anonymous, so no link could really ever be made.

The bank account will require a court order.

If you use your home wifi, then yes, possible, but again, in the UK, would still need a court order.

They did it to me for about £0.17p - this was very long ago, before stealth. It was when ebay first began. But when the debt collection agency got involved, they put their fees on top. All in all, its not worth it.

Also debt collectors are a whole different story, they will chase you down even if you have moved house. Their intel is rigorous!

Don't pay its not worth it. Move on to the next account. Don't listen to the divas here trying to make it seem like they never make stealth accounts(which is illegal in a way, you'll get in more trouble being caught with stealths). They won't send anyone to collect debts nor is it reported to credit companies (I owe 3k) and it hasn't affected me at all(just can't make an eBay under my name).

they are holding OP funds, and he is expected to be a good little serf and pay the fees with no guarantee of getting his funds out? I am assuming for goods or services he has already shipped? err dont think so.....in this case they get their fees 'held' for 181 days...

if they were not holding funds, I would definately say pay it and move on regardless of stealth.....

I had ebay fees of £240 when PayPal limited me I didnt pay it I waited out the 180 days added a bank card to the PayPal and just withdrew then deleted all the account details, it was a stealth account so not at all bothered. I would have happily paid them if they did not limit me.

no mod on ebay/pp stealth forum is going to advocate the idea of not paying your fees. That is unnecessary attention and not the intended purpose of stealth, so you're not going to get too many people on here telling you to dead ebay and pp on what is owed to them.

Do your due diligence and make your own choice. good luck.

Just pay them the money that is owed. It really is that simple and you avoid these issues
If you're really a stealth then it would be impossible, no matter how rich the company is.

I had year long application subscriptions eBay and the account got locked up about 4 months in. I had to pay the remaining fees + early cancellation fee on the subscription (or continue paying for the subscription after the account was locked). Ridiculous.
