I owe paypal £3400 help please
 

Here is my story

i sold iphones on ebay and stupidly sent them via 1st class but not signed for.

Now i realized my mistake and some of them have opened disputes what should i do?

btw it was a stealth account

How many iPhones did you sent exactly?

One dispute being opened is unlucky, if you send out 10 or so and you got disputes on all of them then there is something a bit weird going on

I have 6 disputes opened for item not received

I have withdrawed all funds to my bank account

I have no proof now

up to you isn't it. I'm sure you understand what the 2 main options are. Pay it or don't pay it lol. None of us know what lengths paypal would go to for £3400 but I assume you could potentially get in some big trouble for fraud seeing as you've done it all in a fa ke name and have no proof they've been delivered.
If you refund then I'd get a solicitor to send some threatening letters to them threatening with small claims court, can find some who send them out for £5-10, will probably get 2-3 of them to repay it.
To be honest for £600 each I'd probably be having a day trip to go and say hello in person

So you sold 14 phones each for £600 and 6 of the 14 phones you sold to people have opened a claim against you? That is a very very high percentage. 1 or 2 would be very unlucky but having over 40% of people open claims against you? That is extraordinarily high

It seems like there may be a little bit more to the story.

Even if you close a bank account that PayPal will still have a record of the bank account details. For that sort of money they will try everything they can to recover the funds.

If you sold the items then you must have the money for them

But you need to work out why you are getting a 40% scammer rate. That is much much higher than normal.

even without tracking, if you actually posted these items you will get a postage receipt from royal mail which you can claim up to £50 for each item.

If you put in claims, royal mail will contact the recipients of each claim and ask to confirm if they received them, if they say yes, then there is your proof you can submit.

it will take a few weeks.

Isn't it required for items over $250 or so to be sent with signature?

Pretty sure it goes both ways for US/UK?

I dont think anyone would send an iphone in the post and not send it signed for/tracked - and you say you sent 14????

I feel there is more to this story than meets the eye.

Something is not right.

Sorry for sounding rude, but if thats how you are running your business then I feel you need to find something else to do for money or go work for someone because what you are saying you did is super duper dumb.

Yes OP post is way to vague. Regardless if the value is over $75 i always add signature confirmation, and when i ship international i usually add double insurance( never had to make a claim but it made me sleep easier at night). It is hard to believe you sold 14 iphones and you took the cheapest shipping route possible but to each is own.

lol yea exactly. I mean i know its not impossible. A scammer could've saw the opportunity and jumped on it, but the initial post reeks of BS. If true good luck and don't make the same mistakes in the future i guess.

Sorry but there is NO WAY im sending ONE item worth $600+++ No less 14 of the SAME items without some HEAVY DUTY tracking/protection.

OP, Hope Im wrong like the rest but if the buyers put all the clues together and the negatives show they are not getting their phones they may contact the cops about fraud.
Stealth cant protect you.
Best find the money to put back.

sorry say this but what sort of person would cheap out of sending a £600 phone without some sort of cover , insurance and a signed for.:noidea: even first class posting with a needed signed for is only £1 on top.

Seems to me you were very stupid. You think that someone who gets a nice £600 phone without signing is not going to try their luck? and get the phone for nothing?

I would do this and it may help:

Send each sale a letter recorded or with a sign for £1.69 cost

In there put down that "you have opened a case in pal pay claiming that the goods were not sent/received ". Make ref to the case number. Also say that you have a copy of posting ( print out from till) and that you will be contacting royal mail and have sent pay pal the copy of till roll.
