To MM78.. is that your answer? I need to verify if bank accept mismatch name or not. | Well, You see sometimes it's a good idea to some actual legwork of your own. We can't possibly check every bank you mentioned, AND in some cases those banks have come up in previous threads. So, it would be a good start to do a search for said banks to see if someone has already given an answer, you just might be surprised to know someone already gave their opinion.
The search function works pretty good....I would definitely recommend it. |

| XXX258XXX | 10-19-2016 09:24 PM | Re: Which bank accept mismatch name? One would think with the recent fraud issues with them making up accounts at Wells they may not be so friendly on mismatched names soon. Just a thought to look out for. |
| N@Kes | 10-20-2016 01:50 PM | Re: Which bank accept mismatch name? People, you are doing yourself a problem, why discuss the subject in public, do you think the banks employees and paypal don't look this forum?
They can quickly change the policy, and stop accept to mismatch name.
Be smarter |

| If they are, they are doing a ****ty job of stopping or preventing most of what we do or suggest. Quote:

| Quickly? doubt that....but some things are best not spoken in public forum and usually the Moderators will take down a thread if they feel is not appropriate for open forum talk. |

What else other bank name? | So you have FNBO, does it work over the long run? I heard such small banks often close accounts if two many mismatch transfers occur. |
| nickopedia | 06-09-2017 08:57 PM | Re: Which bank accept mismatch name? Some smallish regional banks and credit untions that depend on a correspondent or parent bank to route their transactions though seem to be a bit more strict on 3rd party deposits via Fedwire (ACH).
I've used Wells Fargo, Chase, Citibank, and BofA with no problems. As others have confirmed, they don't seem to mind mis-matches. YMMV when it comes to frequency, and amount you are transacting tho. |
| nodeal | 06-09-2017 11:41 PM | Re: Which bank accept mismatch name? Barclays online savings is no good they do not accept mismatched names
HSBC works for me
Santander works as well
No experience with the other banks you mentioned |
| kn0b360 | 06-11-2017 10:30 AM | Re: Which bank accept mismatch name? but if it's mismatched, doesn't the bank still mail something out to the address on file? Wont the person just call the bank if they receive mail to their address from the bank?
Am I overthinking? |

Am I overthinking? | The information you give to the bank is 100% yours. You do not give stealth information to the bank. You provide real information to the bank.
You simply take the bank account number and add it to your stealth PayPal account. When you withdraw money, the deposit will show up as coming from the stealth name, but if you use the correct banks it will not be a problem. |
| denis767 | 06-15-2017 07:32 PM | Re: Which bank accept mismatch name? Why not to make 10-20 accounts in one bank?
I use BOA for 22 accounts with no problems. If account is down I close that one and open a new one if I need. Also use CapOne360.
Never had any problems |

| Capone 360 has been reported for giving issues. Regular cap one accounts work better.
10-20 PERSONAL accounts is simply too many eggs in one basket. To have that many accounts exclusively receiving deposits under mismatched names is asking for trouble, and if it is working for you thus far, it certainly is not a long term strategy to model your business after. Closing down one bank and opening another every time your PayPal gets limited is only increasing that risk.
Having 10 BUSINESS bank accounts at one bank is more acceptable. Even with business bank accounts, I would say 20 is still pushing the limits.
If this bank suspects anything is awry, they will close ALL your accounts. Trust me, you don't think this will be a problem UNTIL IT IS, and then you wish you hadn't operated in this fashion.
SPREAD YOUR RISK across several banks. |

I endorse this behavior. Additionally, I have to think the DOLLARS you are pushing through each account will cause a red flag too. I read somewhere here a post that says anything over 1500 is scrutinized differently.....his friend worked at BOA he said. |

Also the frequency and amount of the third party (mismatching) deposits may cause issues if the bank deems it either in violation of their policies, risky, or someone takes a closer look (manual review).
The amount that will trigger a "red flag" would vary depending on the institution, and a few other factors, such as past problems or history.
BTW, Wells Fargo and BofA seem the most stable, even for mismatch deposits over 1000 US
An involuntary closure of a bank account can be reported to Chex as well depending on the reason. There are many banks to pick from that work fine; the best being the "big ones" that are well known. Online only banks and prepaid debit cards (i.e. Greedot/Metabank/NetSpend) are problematic or just don't work. |
| Jigga | 06-17-2017 03:24 PM | Re: Which bank accept mismatch name? I just wanted to update this as far as netspend goes as its the most recent mismatching name thread.
Ive got 3 different netspend accounts all in different family members real names and SS#. One is through bancorp bank, one metabank and one bofi federal. I tried until i got all 3 banks that netspend uses for their cards to try them all and it worked out.
Results Metabank- DOES NOT WORK, trying to link this bank itself flagged my paypal account and netspend. Dont use this.
Bancorp bank- accepted linking the account in paypal but upon first money transfer of $30 it denied, removed the bank from paypal and flagged the account.
bofi federal- This account worked and has been just fine as normal for over 1 year now without issue. I have withdrawn over 20k in the past year again no issue.
Just so that information is out there for anyone that searches. When you first sign up for netspend they assign you a bank from one of the three which you can see as soon as you sign up by clicking direct deposit. If you dont get the bank you want just dont activate the card when you get it and try again after 30 days. They dont ask SS# until you activate so you can do this until you get bofi like you want to get. Thanks |
