Default Paypal case asking police report

hi I have case against someone and paypal asks for additional information, a police report. and to send it to them. I tried calling them to see if i can avoid this but they said no.
Do you know anything I can do to bypass this? What to tell them?

Never heard of that - police report requested.

Please give us more information of that.

Bought a digital good, received not as described. Paypal email:

In order to continue with this investigation, a report must be filed with a law enforcement agency or government organization. You may choose to contact your local law enforcement agency (such as your local police or sheriff's department) or you may choose to file a report with any other governmental agency of your choice. Examples of such agencies could include:

• The Internet Crime Complaint Center (www.ic3.gov)
• Your state's Consumer Protection office
• Your State Police
• A Federal law enforcement agency such as the FBI or Postal Inspection Service
• Please note that a report to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is not acceptable for this document request.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Filing a report with a law enforcement agency or government organization
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Contact a law enforcement agency or other governmental organization (either in person or online) to report the issue.
2. Please make certain to report specific details regarding the item you received.
3. You must obtain a copy of a report from the law enforcement agency or governmental organization and provide it to PayPal via one of the options described below.
4. Please note, the report must contain the specifics listed below:
• The report should be on the agency's or organization's letterhead or contain a stamp or seal or some other information that indicates the report is official documentation.
• The report should clearly explain the details of your issue.
• This report must include the agency's or organization's contact information.

I've had this before when a scum seller literally sent me a piece of cardboard instead of what I was actually buying.

File a report on ic3.gov is the easiest and fastest way, and this will take you only a few minutes. I was never even contacted back in return afterwards.

lol

But for the record, my case was for actual physical goods. I bought a $100 flash drive and the seller sent me a piece of card board for some reason. I ended up getting a refund, but I don't know for sure how the case will end for the OP though.

Sent them an IC3.gov report.
Have talked on the phone and the lady told me it takes up to 72 hours and if the report is legit, i will get my money back(from what I understood they wont check the case anymore just the report), and aswell when I first called and was asked for police report the lady told me that the seller sent irrelevant screenshots, and by submitting police report i have my money back for sure.
ps: always talk to a lady on phone at paypal

Hey mate,
I am currently facing similar problem. I am based in Portugal, and the seller is in Germany. Can I file an IC3 report? as far as I know to file an IC3 report either the buyer or the seller needs to be based in the US.

many thanks
