THIS MAYBE SO
but you still have to offer paypal otherwise you cant sell
so if you Ask buyers to pay with any other online service then can nochex for example be used to accept a payment from paypal

Yeah, I just found that out. You can uncheck the Paypal option but it will give you an error message. I was able to add it. You are stuck either way!

Sellers would offer a different payment method OR i asked for it. Most of the time sellers will refuse transaction outside of ebay. I am stuck with large amount paid through paypal. They seemed to put me under limited everytime I had more than 1 thousand value transaction (one single item) .

Your country is part of the issue.

Re: Paypal Alternatives For People Worldwide! Great Info!

I would welcome some feedback from the members in this thread. I'm not an ebay seller, but I am launching a web site where I'll be selling at least one book. I need to have a credit card page where people can buy from my site, and I've been hoping to find an alternative to Pay-Pal. So far, I have not found a reliable service, and all of the credit card options I found had fees that were too high for where I'm at right now. I'll welcome any idas.

What fee % you looking for? That's the first goal - some banks have their own web-selling tools with cc processing services for that - if you have registeed business too, I might add.

I am only selling one book at the moment, and my needs are simple. Pay_pal wouldn't be a bad option if they didn't have such a habit of freezing people's accounts at random (I know too many people who have been screwed over by them). Finding a comparable service that actually has good reviews has been tough. I'll welcome any leads.

great info lizzy. thank you for being so helpful.

paypal constantly puts your hard earned money on hold. Plus ebay charges you a listing fee and a transacting free then paypal charges you fees as well.
Ebay owns paypal so they are together so they are charging triple the fees for one place. This is completely wrong.
Everyone needs to diversify to keep these power houses from getting to strong.

Ok, but how does the invoice look to the customer? How do they pay you? If I get some kind of weird unknown agency asking me to pay you, and it's not paypal, I will look to another seller that accepts PayPal.

How do buyers pay with bid pay? Do buyers have to have a bid pay account to buy from me if I use bid pay? I am a little confused about this..

Re: Paypal Alternatives For People Worldwide! Great Info!

I'd welcome some help with this. I am in the United States, and I have customers all over the world, and I didn't think Bid Pay could handle that. Does anyone here have any info?

Also, I'd heard several times that Bid Pay was gone and replaced by Authorize.net. When did Bid Pay relaunch and does anyone have their web address?

Thanks.

Re: Paypal Alternatives For People Worldwide! Great Info!

I checked it out minns and if you go to bidpay's web site it does say that bidpay discontinued operations and it is now authorize.net.
