3 Paypal's need SS OR EIN
 

So I have 3 stealth PayPal's that have been limited cause I sold to much...I usually just attach an LLC and i'm good to go but last time I did this it also asked for a SS# which has never happened before...but in a real llc and bogus ss# and about a month later account was permanently limited...did I do something wrong?...i'm afraid to open new llc's now. HELP! :suspicious:

PayPal does indeed verify both the SSN and EIN with 3rd party databases. Any non-match or discrepancy will lead to a limitation. If not right away, later on when the bots check the validity of info given.

Ok maybe I didn't ask the question correctly...if you have a stealth ebay/paypal how do you make it a business account without adding SS#...i'm here because my SS# is banned on ebay/pp just like everyone else on here...so how do I sell more than 20 products a month without ss#

You cant. It is impossible. When you add the EIN the last four of the users SS is required. Most of us ad the last 4 of the EIN. This has been discussed extensively in many threads. You might want to use the search function but that sums it up.

I have read that the last 4 of EIN is used but does it hold up over time or is it a temporary fix?

I have 15 stealth accounts right now but only 1 account with EIN which is my main account and makes up about 85% of my income. I'm scared that if something happens to that account i'm screwed. Should I just open a couple of ebay accounts and make them business accounts with EIN right away? Will that take away the EIN/SS hassle?

I never add an EIN unless I absolutely have to.

there is no hassle. If the last four of the EIN is 1234 then you type 1234....Where is the hassle?

Just to add my 2 cents, but I have done exactly as Yankee said, and it has always worked for me as well, without limitations later down the road.

PP doesn't check the name against the SSN or EIN, only confirm if the numbers are 'valid'.

Don't go over 20K. If you do they will issue a 1099 to the IRS and it will come back as a name/number mismatch and they'll limit you.

This seems confusing to the OP. If they set up a company and use and EIN, everything matches and is right with the world. m
