So long as its done properly, you'll be fine.

I do it (and more) when making Amazon accounts. Amazon being renowned for linking based on similarity that is. My accounts still up and running years later are a testament to this method working.

Your user agent is normally transmitted during header requests from your browser. It gives info on your pc like browser edition, etc. http://www.whoishostingthis.com/tools/user-agent/ you can see what yours shows here
