There's no need for pontification. I think it's beneficial to everyone for us to keep this conversation going rather than dismissing any interpretation that doesn't line up with your own.

All of it. the simple fact is none of us know exactly how this is going to be done so panicking right now is pointless.
And to counter what you said - The SSN and DOB can easily be bought online. Using said SSN and DOB and any number of public database companies that provide their services for $9.95 per month one can find pretty much all the info necessary to pass said verification questions. A bank statement can easily be photoshoped. The prostate exam will need a special template - Im sure one can be arranged.
Did I miss anything?
Point is - where there is will there is a way and if nefarious elements want to avail themselves of paypal's services they will be able to do so no matter what security measures/obstacles are placed in their way.
Im not in denial. I just dont see the point in wasting all this time on something that we simply dont know enough about. When this feature rolls out and we actually know what we're dealing with ill get to work on a solution. Right now youre working on a solution to a question that has way too many variables and not enough data. |
