My experience once they ask for the SSN they want it.....even with an EIN.

Also, I triggered by selling $1000 in one day.....but it was the second request to transfer a second $500 a day later that seemed to trigger it.

It's actually not always how it is, but giving them EIN after they asked for SSN should still work actually.
