I sure hope that isn't the case. While on the phone, he asked me to verify the new phone number, the email to the account, and my name. Then I was on my way.

UPDATE:

Unfortunately jarsky was correct, the phone rep was a complete liar. Wow, how bad must this company be to have phone reps that flat out lie right to your face? Pretty incredible.

Anyhow, onward and upward, will be calling back today and demanding it be fixed before getting off the phone. Update to come.

CALLED AGAIN UPDATE:

PayPal rep told me that it is a "technical issue" and that it is not a problem with my account. He stated that I need to wait 48 hours and they will email me. I told him that the last guy told me to wait 48 hours as well and nothing happened. He said I understand and they are for sure looking at the account now and will have an answer to what's going on on Sunday.

I urged him to please do anything he can to get this fixed today, but there was truly nothing that could be done.

The case continues..........

CALL #3 UPDATE:

Bad news, but this was the most helpful PayPal agent by far. New phone # could not be linked because it is not "eligible". The reason for that is it's not registered is MY name.

He told me I could do a "Get cash" option from the app at Walmart, but need valid ID. So no go there.

Couldn't pull any public info and I'm obviously not going to give a SSN, so no go there.


My next move is unknown.... do you guys think if I wait it out (3-4 months), the phone will enable by then and I can verify via SMS?

I think my only other option after that would be to limit the account on purpose and begin the 6 month waiting process to withdraw.

Experts please weigh in! Any and all input is appreciated.

Update: After doing nothing for 10 days I went on and tried a transfer. To my surprise, everything was back to normal. Security update was gone, and have withdrawn all my money. Key is to leave it alone for awhile and continue to sell items as usual.

In the future don't call in to change number- do it on the Paypal site and let it age.

But yeah, don't lose access to your #'s!

So in the future, basically USE your original google voice phone number.

If you don't have that #, THEN upload new google voice number to Paypal.
Let it sit for a little while, THEN use new google voice number???

When you call paypal they are Filipino villagers. Call. Sometimes they will just remove it without going through the questions. If the agent sounds like he is serious about his job and wants a promotion just call back later. When you call at noon it is like 3AM in the Philippines. They don't know what they are doing and they don't care. It's good when you get a female representative because it is 3AM and she is a single mom with kids at home (and it is the Philippines so she is supporting the father and his other 6 kids too). She just wants to get through the call and go home and sleep. If she destroys an innocent persons business or allows an obvious criminal to keep using Paypal does not matter one bit to her.

i have advise u never if u are using in rdp or vpn then never call to paypal.if u are using real ip adres then go head

Can't you get a T-Mobile USA prepaid SIM card. Then buy a 6 year old T-Mobile Samsung S3 with cracked screen for $15. Now when you connect to wi-fi you have a real USA number anywhere in the world.
