Can I give a call to paypal on other person's behalf?
 

Hello,

I have a paypal account registered under my grandma's name, can I still give paypal a call and tell them that I am calling on her behalf or would that be too risky?

Yes, that's definitely possible. But they would ask for some kind of authorization from your Grandma's, allowing you to talk to them on her behalf.

The thing is, she could talk herself, but she does not speak english

They would need to talk to her on the phone for authorisation for you to be able to speak on her behalf

I believe the customer service sees that the account is registered as a female who is 60+ years old...

You can try, but they probably won't entertain you and say they need to speak to the person who the account belongs to. The only way to find out is to try, will it raise red flags, most likely.

When you call in, explain you're speaking on her behalf. They'll usually ask to speak to her, to quickly confirm security questions and ask if its okay to speak with you.

In terms of getting flagged, it depends. If you're telling the agent she can't understand English too well, but then she's selling on eBay, got lots of money going through her PayPal etc., that could give them reason to be suspicious.

i have never had any response from emailing paypal support unless i spoke with them on the phone and they gave me a specific email to send to.
