The guy who's paypal account Im using just passed away!

Guys 911 emergency! Been using a friends paypal account for years now with no problem. Even attached my bank account to his paypal with no problem. No restrictions.. No disputes.. Ran this account flawlessly from day one for about 4 years. Sad news is i just found out today he passed away!

Its weird the past few days i've been trying to upgrade to a business account so we can use it with a company name instead of an individual name. I've had no success upgrading to business account. Thought this was so strange. Yesterday no matter how many times i added personal info it would not let me upgrade to business account. Today i tried adding my business debit card account to this paypal and again it didn't work. Eventually I spoke to a rep and there was a series of security questions i could not answer. They were very personal to the actual account owner.

When I called to see if he could help answering the security questions i found out he passed away! What should I do? would it be cool to continue to use this account? is it a matter of time before they realize he passed and close it? Would hate to have money tied up and get screwed over.

Also I messed up my paypal over 11 years ago. My dad passed away and I wound up never shipping a few items. Is it possible I can just try to get a new one with my info or my company info? it's been so long. I'm a changed man. Have run ebay and paypal flawlessly. Shipped all items on time, 99.9 feedback, zero disputes etc.

Anybody with experience PLEASE help asap. I was about to run a huge auction and I don't want to get the account closed! I also don't want any legal probs using his account. Need to sell asap. Suggestions please!!

Impersonating your dead friend is not advisable in the long run. Might be smart to let this mess go and run a bunch of stealth accounts.

No. Stop using it and start over. Using peoples info who have passed on can cause major issue down the line.

Sorry for your loss but you've come to the right place to start over.

When you open a new pp account are there a lot of limitations? i can't deal! i have so much money tied up in my products and was planning a huge auction. i don't know how i'm gonna swing this. really need to order the guides asap.
