New PayPal Account Received "Money is Waiting on You"?
 

Ok so I opened a new PayPal account and attached it to eBay. The first sale went through fine, it had the standard PayPal hold and I shipped out and such uploaded tracking. The next two items sold the buyer sent payment, and when I login to PayPal it says "Money is waiting on You" "Claim It". When I click "Claim It" it takes me to another page and asks "What do I want to do with the money?"

The first option is "Transfer it to your Bank". The next is "Keep it in PayPal".

I had presumed "Keep it in PayPal" because its like $26.00? However when I click "Keep it in PayPal" it takes me to the next page that says Please confirm your info. Provide info that matches what’s on your legal ID so we can make sure you’re really you. This helps keep your account secure.

So...my question is? What do I do? It says if I skip confirming my ID on the next page it will allow me to keep the money in PayPal but I cannot send it anywhere? Like I cannot shop with it or anything, which I don't care about but I do care about paying eBay fees? Or paying for shipping costs on eBay?

Anyone have this come up before? What have you done and what is the outcome? I'm weary on clicking on one or the other just because if it keeps the money in the account and I cannot pay eBay fees or ship items, what good is it? Or if I transfer it all to a bank account I won't have any money to pay for shipping or fees in the first place?

Kind of at a conundrum here. All help is appreciated!

I just tried to pay for shipping for the eBay item and it declined the payment. It said “There was an error processing your PayPal shipping Payment” when I tried to print the $3.50 label...

Your should enter your date of birth and SSN info

If all the thing is correct, the money will be availible on your balance.

If your info is not correct, you will not be able to have any paypal balance and more than that, your account can be automatically limited and asked for ID-SSN-Utility Bill pictures

Yes this is how US PayPal accounts are becoming.

Theres lots of options to print out shipping. A lot of people on here use stamps.com. Some people also use ship station.

For paying fees, I have about 20 accounts currently giving me this Claim It nonsense and can pay my eBay fees from my PayPal balance on all of them. But some are reporting they cannot. I do not know why some accounts are able to and others are not.

experiencing the same issue...Paypal verified by VBA prior to receiving the payment...It's asking me to claim the funds... When i click that it proceeds to 1)Transfer to bank OR 2) Add details like SSN, ITIN...Completely confused on what to do now...

I guess I can use my other account to print out shipping, either way though this is a huge pain.

I used a VBA and confirmed it prior to doing ANY sales as well and putting a credit card on there. This is something new for sure I have never experienced this before.

What did you do as far as accepting the payment and such?

Yes I confirmed it with my bank account. There is no way to confirm a credit card now, it doesn’t seem to give that option.

These were also very low risk cheap $10.00 items.

US is tight, in the future use European Accounts as they have become a heaven, atleast for me.

would it not be best to refund or cancel that last transaction, then you wouldn't need to buy shipping label to ship it because there's nothing to ship, make a one off payment for the fee's then start again on a new / different account?

It says I can claim it but I can’t send money for anything anymore? Anyone have this issue?

Yes but you can still accept payments for sales on eBay, you just can't use the money from those sales to buy things online unless you confirm your info with your SSN. You can still withdraw to an attached bank account.

My question is more, if I keep the money in my PayPal account, can I use it to ship and pay eBay fees? If not then none of this is any good to me. I don't plan on using to it shop, and I don't mind transferring to a bank account, however I would still need to pay for shipping and eBay fees from that account.

Here is an update. The first item I shipped was delivered and the hold was "released". However, now that money is added to the amount that is "pending" and says "claim it"

None of this is working at all, it will not let me get around the verify your information part. I fear I am screwed with this account...

So my only option was to transfer the money to my bank account, which I did. It will not let me do ANYTHING besides verify my information or transfer it to a bank account.

Any advice or help with this? I won't even be able to pay eBay fees now? This is freaking insane I have never seen PayPal immediately do this from day one anymore.

Like I said, I have accounts that have the "Claim It" button and I still am able to use my PayPal to pay eBay fees. Otherwise the only thing aside from that I can do with my PayPal balance is transfer to a bank account.

As for shipping, you can use a third party like stamps.com or shipstation. Plenty of others out there as well.

Solution:Refunded the payment and deleted the account.

Same issue here. Bought 5 stealth accounts from different sellers here. And ALL of them have this issue.
So, my question is to account sellers: do you guys have old account with fully working PayPal? I'm ready to pay more than regular price for them now :-)

It was advised to switch to UK accounts on the first page. What if I trade within USA only? Will my items listed on UK account be searchable on USA ebay?

It seems to me you have to claim it and transfer to a bank account every time now. Super annoying when you’re selling smaller items.

I’m not sure what to make of this. I talked to a buddy of mine high up in banking and he said he believes this is due to money laundering. PayPal has come under heavy scrutiny and they may be forcing members to verify their SSN and Tax ID numbers now, or instantly transfer it to a bank for record.

For new usa paypals, recently many accs will have this issue.
You can try to buy some aged accs.
aged accs still work.

Yes,for new accs,even u verify the ssn number.it will ask you to submit documents right now.

same with my older account, but I can still transfer to a bank account. What I am wondering is what they do with customer refunds. It also appears that you have to take the whole amount out now to transfer all at once. Returns are what is the concern. Ebay fees can be paid with a prepaid card.

I have received the "claim your money" button as well. My account has a vba. Do you think I would still be able to add a working bank account, so I can at least recoup my current funds?

From experience, nothing you can do except transfer to a real bank and continue taking in sales normally. Or provide the SSN info they are asking for which is not possible since its a stealth account.

Not all new US Paypals have this issue but it's becoming very common.

My Paypal have some funds and its saying "Claim your money". Unfortunately I don't have any real US Bank account but tried all 4 5 Global Payment Payoneer US Bank accounts and none of them worked with Paypal.

I want funds and then I can close this account but there are only 3 options available:
1) Claim your fund goes to Verify Identity (SSN ITIN ETC) which I dont have
2) Link US Bank (I have Payoneer US accounts which doesnt work anymore)
3) Send a check to address (I have friends in US to whom I can send but not sure if they will be able to cash it as friend name would be different than pp account name)

SO what can I do here? There is an option for "Instant withdrawal to card" not sure if there is any service like payoneer which offers these cards so I can withdraw.

Not anymore. 2 of my aged account were hit by same issue during pas few weeks. Worked fine for years, and requested for SSN now. Only option left is to withdraw to bank. Luckily, I was able to link Payoneer data to them. Not sure how long this will last though before they cut me off completely.

So, it seems that very soon ALL USA PayPal accounts will be limited if no valid SSN provided. We need to look for sellers of accounts with verified SSN now.
