Default Paypal Back Office 24-72 Hour BS

Is it just me, or is the go-to excuse for PP phone agents that run into an issue they can't/won't tackle to give a response of "I've escalated this to our back office and you should hear back within 24-72 hours. Have a nice day."

I followed up on a few accounts I called in and was given this excuse, and the rep says there is no record of any note on the account regarding the previous calls.

Just a tactic to get the call quota up maybe?

I found other agents that have been more helpful, but most have given me the basic runaround. Is this an experience thing? Thoughts?

Haven't experienced that but I did call in today and was told they couldn't help me but try to call back in 24-48 hours and try again lol. Paypal is a joke.

Yea, I was given a similar excuse today. I complained that I had previously called and told the same thing. They told me there was a note on my account, but not a ticket. So a ticket was created to solve my problem. Time will tell if anything happens with a 'ticket' vs a 'note'.

this is just normal procedure......they have been doing this since i started paypal in 2014

I had one account and the paypal rep said the ID wasnt clear enough or something I said I DONT CARE SUBMIT IT she said ok whatever if it doesnt work im sorry. Hung up 5 mins later account reinstated LOL. so yes the back office is very much real now. Reps use to be able to fix your account on the spot once u submit ID but now they cant.
