| ebaystealth1974 | 05-09-2019 09:01 AM | Re: Let's hypothesize on an unmentioned aspect of the May 7th Paypal Policy Update So, I've now seen multiple reports of PP not keeping the transaction fees on refunds in the last few days. And several reports of PP reps saying the new policy has been put on the backburner, for now.
It appears as though a bunch of pissed off sellers has made them re-think this policy, FOR NOW!
Anyone had and returns/refunds/cancellations since the 7th? |
| hawkeye3211 | 05-09-2019 01:57 PM | Re: Let's hypothesize on an unmentioned aspect of the May 7th Paypal Policy Update Yeah, I just refunded a product today and it looks like the fee was reversed too. |
| ebaystealth1974 | 05-09-2019 04:18 PM | Re: Let's hypothesize on an unmentioned aspect of the May 7th Paypal Policy Update Ok, good!
...... |
| agent006140 | 05-09-2019 06:52 PM | Re: Let's hypothesize on an unmentioned aspect of the May 7th Paypal Policy Update when does the new policy start?
By refunding its fee in full,Paypal is eating that transaction fee ,for every transaction, whether it is debit or credit, for a refund/reversal Paypal pays a fee, could be 10 cents plus a small % tage.
I know once I have a merchant account, when I refund my buyer,it is a credit transaction and there is a small fee I have to pay 1./2% plus transaction fee of 15 cents.

Well yeah, hundreds of times, just not on PP. :nerd:
Neither point is relevant when a new system is being rolled out though. Are we to assume that Paypal is going from 3% profit on every transaction to no profit at all once PP is being accepted through managed payments? They'll still get a cut somehow. | check the Paypal payment schedule, sometimes the sender pays a fee.
if you buy from an overseas seller who accept euros, then you pay Paypal to convert your US $ to Euro.
There could be fee for the sender if it is overseas payment, friend and family |
| iamlmfao | 05-09-2019 07:23 PM | Re: Let's hypothesize on an unmentioned aspect of the May 7th Paypal Policy Update So you guys are saying its NOT IN EFFECT yet? Also if paypal are eating it they should stick the fee to the buyer. Its not our fault theres so many retards. |
| agent006140 | 05-09-2019 07:40 PM | Re: Let's hypothesize on an unmentioned aspect of the May 7th Paypal Policy Update Paypal does not know or care,it could be you are in the wrong or the buyer is.
Like Ebay,if buyer wants to return the item and make you pay return shipping, all they have to do is file item not as described,is it fair?
I thought before this new policy,Paypal does not refund 10 cents or the transaction fee? |

| agent006140 | 05-11-2019 06:48 AM | Re: Let's hypothesize on an unmentioned aspect of the May 7th Paypal Policy Update IF THEY Dont like this new policy, they can close their account.
There are other payment processors, like Square,Ayden and other sales venues besides Ebay |

Yep, that's their attitude for sure. Get on board with the new policies or simply get off board. |

| Sunspot144 | 05-11-2019 08:35 AM | Re: Let's hypothesize on an unmentioned aspect of the May 7th Paypal Policy Update Canceled a couple hundred $$ order and was refunded the FVF with credits from ebay for listing more. Got a message stating as such. |
| phaz0rz | 05-11-2019 08:38 AM | Re: Let's hypothesize on an unmentioned aspect of the May 7th Paypal Policy Update He was talking about the transaction fee charged by PP though. I don't think eBay ever intends to start keeping FVF's on cancelled orders. |

Ebs74 planning on more than 100 canceled orders this year and $30 breaking the business?!? :fight: :) |
| agent006140 | 05-11-2019 09:04 AM | Re: Let's hypothesize on an unmentioned aspect of the May 7th Paypal Policy Update if a buyer keeps cancelling orders, filing disputes ,Paypal could cancel his account as he is a nuisance!
Ditto with Ebay,as he/she is a haZard to the Ebay seller community.
An Ebay buyer in rural Mexico will keep BUYING cheap trinklets on EBAY and sellers will ship first class with no tracking once it leaves USA ,MANY WERE lost or stolen, you know Mexican mail is not that safe.
She filed too many disputes and Ebay removed her buying privilege, she can sell but just cant buy |

Also wtf, refunds dont = cancellations? Lol |
| Sunspot144 | 05-11-2019 11:28 AM | Re: Let's hypothesize on an unmentioned aspect of the May 7th Paypal Policy Update 3/4 of buyers on personal site pay with CC instead of PP. Mobile makes up 50% of video games now, projected to be 50%+ in 2020 for online retail. |
