PayPal now has an option for quick security check: asking for your original cc #

Cc is of course your original credit card number. Has anyone tried this and it worked? I was able to add a bank through another way, because I lost the credit card number. I just called in. But never tried entering original credit card number. We know if we give PayPal what they want, they still say no a lot of times. Did it work for you folks?

I've seen this option on one of my stealths recently asking for the CC# on the account but couldn't provide it because the VCC attached to the account was old and I didn't have the records for it.

This was a good lesson and taught me to start making sure I record ALL details for my accounts.

I haven't seen it yet.. but this makes me thankful the account seller I used to use would include the VCC # in the acct details. :D

Yes and I love it. Just added the whole number and all was well in the paypal world.

Yep been seeing this lately and personally I like it as I keep pretty detailed records on all of my accounts. I do wonder if you delete the original card and add a new one and let it age if it will let you verify the new one instead? I have one account that I didn't keep the CC details for and am trying this out. Will keep everybody updated.

they dont always ask for it tho, its still mainly phone verification they want

I too have seen this recently and I love it. I would also love to know what triggers this on the account so I can do it all. the. time.
