I'm sure the mobile app which allows the mobile deposits has a number of verifications of it's own. What about the device (GPS) location, or other account history? In other words Bank of America wouldn't normally apply the same measures to every customer, only those that "tripped" some security flag.
Without knowing a LOT more detail on what the OP did, or didn't do, it's hard to see exactly what the exact problem could be. | Not hard to determine at all. It says: "Payee not on account".
Either add payee to account or do as Yankee suggests in #36.
Or endorse check to 3rd party.
